This is cap based purely on me not being very present in the Rotgarde at all. Skabb is the head officer & effectively the GM and has been for many many months

I probably should have said “was” rather than “is” because I don’t really have any understanding on the way Skabb runs things - that being said, you weren’t very present in the Rotgarde back during the times I’m talking about either, so in-game presence is kind of moot in that regard.

So your judgement in 2021 comes from a distinctly pre-PCU era because what was then for most part a group of teenagers was pressed the dislike button on your thread

That is just mainly funny and if you’re spending many of your hours contemplating forum arguments from 5-10 years ago then I think that is maybe a little bit unreal

My judgement in 2021 comes from the stories I’ve been told and logs I’ve been given by close friends who left the guild in 2020 and are reinforced by my feelings from way back when (circa WoD-Legion, when the PCU was only a growing idea.)

As you can probably tell from my post count it’s more likely I spent many of my seconds contemplating a non-argument because at no point did I say “the current ensemble of PCU are bad and go on forum crusades” and instead said “A past history of forum crusades may be why some people are hesitant to get along.”

seems fine to me so long as these mercenaries aren’t just excuses to do social in a capital city of the Horde. If I hire bloodthirsty unstable trolls as mercs you can be sure i won’t invite them home.

I’d like to see some goblin guild do this, I imagine the Bilgewater would be quite happy to take on cheap labour in the form of non-Horde personnel with minimal to non-existent insurance costs.

But you know what, we do need it, because in three years time, I’ll probably be able to come back to England and go on my laptop, log onto this twenty-six year-old game and still be able to role-play on this platform, all thanks to the PCU. Them existing allows the rest of the raft to stay afloat. And it is not hard to exist on the fringes of said raft. Do I need to explain how? New role-players will join the server because it is still active, and then you create your own guild, your own bubble, and you play in it with your five friends and remain content - do you get my tone, yet?

Stop being so ungrateful. I’ve said this before about the PCU, but I’ll say it again: it is either a dead server, like the Sha’tar, where I came from, or it is an active server, with a few obvious hiccups. I still think fondly of Kilam and Javea and Nocturne and Esoteric Illusion every day for introducing me to role-play, but those guilds are dead. Those players are gone. That role-play is over.

Be more present, more aware, and sit in gratitude, please. This is a passion for so many of us - whether you realise it yet or not - that could’ve died years ago. I can’t even begin to explain the virtues of WoW RP to my friends who don’t game. But you know what happens when I meet another gamer who’s RP’d on SWTOR or WoW or FF or Guild Wars? Pure fudging magic. We can talk for hours and not stop. You know why? Because it’s pure. Stop wishing it away on a few banal complaints. Yes. The PCU’s massive, but as far as I can tell, they couldn’t care less about shoving their guild down people’s throats - it is there to join, or not, but that’s it. You poke it, you get bit, (resisting the urge to say, ‘’… you entitled piece of–’’) but whatever: there’ll always be entitled people with too loud voices.

Thanks for the chuckle, that did make me laugh. Rp exists with or without the bigger communities - they contribute as does everyone else. Envy? I think not.

If it was a proper Farakki skin, it’d have black tusks.

I can’t post images because I’m not a TRUSTED member of the forum community, but there are plenty of examples of Farraki that don’t have black tusks. The most notable one is Jakra’zet himself, who has pretty normal tusks.

Besides, it does not make sense for Sandfury to join the Horde as a tribe in the slightest. In one of the introductory quests to Zandalar, Jakra’zet says: “It took years to earn my place here after your Horde laid waste to my people.”

Why would they join the Horde, if their people and settlements were razed by them? Even during the quest where we transport Vol’jin’s urn to Atal’Dazar, there’s multiple Sandfury mobs attacking us, refusing to have former Warchief of the Horde buried alongside the greatest Zandalari rulers.

Most troll tribes, including the Sandfury, are treated by Blizzard as villains.

I’ve been adventuring with a Farraki troll on my Darkspear, and we’ve found that there’s a fun way to RP their dubious relationship with the Horde. Even though he’s no longer a murderous, bloodthirsty warrior from the sands, he’s still got to convince the guards and so on that he’s welcome, so whenever we approach a settlement we’ll do a /roll - if he rolls higher than me, then we spend the night in the town, and if I roll higher than him then we go and make a camp outside. It’s a really fun dimension to add to your roleplay beyond “i got badge that says me friendly now”.

If we ever do plan on visiting Orgrimmar then I’d probably try and arrange something with the HoC if needed.

I’d say if there’s any tribe that hates the Horde more than the Amani do, it’s the Sandfury. Remember when we had 1x briefly friendly one in Tanaris? He was briefly friendly for good reason …

This is one of those ‘arguing to hear oneself talk’ sort of situations.

It honestly doesn’t change anything about anything for either side to concede this discussion - all this happened before the customisations existed, and even in these days sand trolls exist in the state of either 1) enemy or 2) vassal tribe who can be murdered without consequence.

This all came from the flimsy excuse of one person asserting their headcanon and being annoyed at an entire community because one guild within it gave them some IC pushback and reacted as their characters would.
