Indeed there was an issue briefly last night caused by a problematic hotfix deployment.
As noted here it was resolved shortly after, though I can see some people are still having problems logging back in.
I’m going to close this thread here in order to clear things up a bit so please continue to use this thread: Stuck on "retrieving character list" to report current problems getting back on.
