I can agree with you on that. I promised to create this on good terms, and while we might have slipped up there I intend to keep that promise. Both servers are equally valuable and as ever I wish you the best of luck with yours.

This is such phoney PR speak, honestly. I donât have a dog in this race as I donât play a gnome anymore but itâs obv. that if somebody makes a Discord server they want it to succeed over the previous one they abandoned - thatâs just fact. They serve the same role, same niche, directly competing against each other.

Argent dawn is a very big server with a lot of different personalities on it, I think it is perfectly fine for other discord servers existing to cater to those peopleâs varying tastes.
Also that while someone competes against another it neednât be vicious or detrimental, from the sounds of it there are people on either server who are not interested in the other.
And as mentioned if there isnât a market for it then the server will die out from lack of use, so there really isnât much need to derail this thread if some people are questioning the purpose of this extra server?
Argent Dawn is a big server, sure. But this isnât an Argent Dawn discord is it? Itâs a discord related to one of the smallest race communities out there. All I see from this doing is splitting up a even more split group of players.
If they found that the existing one wasnât pleasant, why not make a new one? Either it gets popular, in which case evidently there was demand for it, or it doesnât, in which case nothing happens?

It wasnât about the peonposting, it was the fact that you went on the attack and youâre now winding your neck in because you realised it wasnât actually very good optics
The stated cause for this - that Ryderâs discord isnât moderated properly - is also absolutely untrue. The big hitpiece here is a few weeks ago some guy joined, linked some gross emoji and was instantly moderated (with a ban)
That isnât the real reason and anyone can verify that by spending one minute looking at the original discordâs logs - because itâs an incredibly quiet server where there isnât a lot of chatter as is typical with small discords for small communities. There is unironically 0 messages sent in like the past three weeks that even the most hardline moderator would squint at
As well as that, it appears that a surprising portion of the people who have decided that a âsaferâ discord is needed are still in the orginal discord. Is that - maybe - because the level of moderation was never what this was about

Instantly, this new serverâs mod team was picked out of an old guard of gnomish guilds and - of course - OOC pals that donât run gnomish groups and donât even main gnomish characters. I think that is a good way for you to keep this small community remaining small - by doing this deeply political move and by slamming some guild-names in the OP (established groups ⊠good ⊠individuals ⊠bad) and all but exhuming others to evoke some kind of "wow, so old ⊠so prestigious ⊠" shtick you create a dichotomy between the old & the new / the guilded & the individual

People can be on multiple servers though, and if they donât like one server or the other, they have a choice of which one to be on?
If people donât like the only gnome server that exists for whatever reason, their choice is to just not be on a server?

People can join whatever discord they wish. Even if the reason this discord was set up might be petty (Not saying it is) going after them on their own forum post is worse.
If you dont like it, ignore it. This massive derailing just leaves a bad taste in everyones mouth.

Would this be your argument if you were the administrator of the original discord and a group began to spread a basically untrue shillpiece about your work (incl. attacks on extremely funny alts) and basically remade what youâd worked on but with you cut out entirely (youâre in the wrong guild, I guess? =P) and with (supposing youâre guilded in this scenario) the OP referencing a group of guilds as some sort of headlining acts - the elder council of gnome RP or something - despite some of them not really even being active and then giving mod to players who donât even RP gnomes over you - because they happen to be the buddy of the OP
The same buddy who begged for mod in the OG discord and was denied, and decided that theyâd get it by having their friends throw what passes for clout in small communities about

How many gnomish guilds even are there if three of them banding up to do their own thing is going against the large community? Move on. If other discord is up to your preference, stick with it. If not, go here. Better one prevails in the end.
