Discrimination because of ex. location?

Hi there! I have moved to NL from RUS and tried to change my region. I sent real documents from odido, where is written my name, surname and address.
But got rejected, when I sent in reply other document, I recieved an answer with threats: “Continuing to submit country change requests for this account under disingenuous circumstances can and will result in action being taken against your account, including warnings, temporary, and permanent game account suspensions.”

I don’t understand why support has such an attitude. Maybe there was some kind of mistake and they didn’t understand something?

Ticket number: EU97674384, please help. I am ready to provide any documents, as I wrote in the request. I can send you a selfie from Amsterdam. What else should I do?

P.S.: I have been in WoW since 2013, played on Europe, then moved to Russian servers to play with friends. I am shocked by such a “loyal” attitude towards old gamers from support. All that remains is to hope that someone here will notice this topic and help.

Due global circumstances in Russia, everyone who changes country from Russia is subject to extraordinary checks.

Your only option is to discuss it with Support. If they decline to change your registered country at the current time you will have to pursue other means, like proving before a court that you’re indeed here in the country (permanently) and not just temporarily passing by.

What exactly have these “global circumstances” to do with a game like WoW?

The fact that its illegal for Western companies to trade with people in Russia due to the sanctions.

Which in turn has lead to people in Russia claiming to have moved to another country, in order to trade with western companies The problem is, if they haven’t, then the company gets a seriously punishingly large fine.

Therefore they are very very concientious and careful about believing people who make that claim.

Sorry but i still don’t understand what that has to do with an online game that is obviously legally available in Russia

It has to do with that the game is required to follow the international sanctions imposed upon Russia and its citizens.

As was explained finely to you by Trovlak, it’s examples.

Edit: As you can also see here other players meet the same difficulty when they come from or are Russians.

It’s not only you and they won’t circumvent the sanctions if they’re not sure if you can convincingly prove it.
