There IS a lot of mud-slinging their way though, and there have been a lot of things that really made me realise how there was a lot of nastiness aimed at their members that was then never really acknowledged or admitted as being part of the problem.
PCU will be first to admit they’re not fully innocent, but neither are the ones who have made it their mission to discredit them, and yet any complaint a PCU member makes is mere ‘accusing’?
Like, as an example, people are talking about consent and discussion, but when Apawi did this very thing with someone it still didn’t stop them, behind the scenes, lying about attempted force killings from them and the HoC.
Jumping on the PCU rumour-train with falsehoods is a really easy way to get welcomed into the other big communities, and we need to stop pretending that this isn’t the case.

As others have said (and at risk of sounding like a broken record), I put the blame on Battle For Azeroth and the rebellion storyline. The story that Blizzard prescribed was a disaster on every front, but the real problems I faced was hopping on to RP on any of my characters and struggling to find RP that didn’t have that strand of rebellion RP running through it. As someone more interested in the stories we as RPers are capable of telling, it felt too much like we were on the back foot responding to the terms that Blizzard was setting, rather than being the driving force of our own narratives.

I do kinda miss being able to just RP without constantly thinking about what sort of OOC motivations there are or whether something’s being saved to a folder to be plastered on the forums/ skype/ discord years later. My hang up I know, but not without cause.
On topic, whilst I barely RP anyway and I don’t touch Horde side at all, I can still only agree with much earlier posting re: the “Civil War” being primarily at fault. My concern is that going forward whilst this has been wrapped up in a fashion, the next expansion doesn’t quite lend itself to RP as well. The story is happening in another plane of existence that, in theory, only the adventurers have a hope of navigating around properly thanks specifically to the Heart of Azeroth. Everything’s going to come back to Azeroth as whispers and rumours. We get a neat Scourge Invasion 2.0 (3.0?) at the start, which will probably create some fun stuff, but we can only speculate as to whether anything else is actually going to impact our world and move the story on in a fashion that is going to let the “normal” inhabitants of Azeroth interact with it.
Plenty of creative people on AD though so I’m sure they’ll find a way to muddle through - maybe not having some overarching story like a civil war hanging over their heads is actually going to be a good thing?

Pretty much; stay away from these weirdos and just try to find roleplay somewhere else. Enough places that have people, especially now with the cross-rp potion.
