This, really. There was a lot of RP during WoD, most of it unconnected to the expansion’s storyline.
And yes, Shadowlands might bring that feeling back, with an expansion storyline that can be easily ignored IC. But I’m not holding my breath. To me, who’s been RPing since Wrath launch, it seems that WoW is just slowly dying a death of a thousand cuts and the RP scene is shrinking proportonately.
I have some optimism, a friend who hasn’t touched wow in years is tempted to come back due to all the customisation stuff. I’m going into this being optimistic, it may be a bit naive but i’m hoping if they go all out (seeing as belves are getting 40 more customisations per gender or w.e) I can see it becoming really attractive for roleplay.
There’s a lot of updates and QoL stuff that I think will be quite a draw for some long lost RPers, definitely. More significant customisation options has been asked for for years, after all.
I’m optimistic about this, too. Let us hope we are not disappointed.
I don’t see roleplay on Argent Dawn dying out any time soon. WoW is a highly-accessible game with a very broad setting, and the world-building is typically very cool even if the overarching story isn’t.
The customisation is a very welcome addition, and I can only only hope Blizz adds more on seeing our positive response.
Q: What are some of the other customization things we will be looking forward to with our WoW characters?
A: Working hard right now on blood elves - more than 40 additional customizations for them coming.
I hope not. They already got new stuff in the more recent past; and I think the other races deserve the love more, and the lack of addition for customisation options for allied races means that the normal races get more love in terms of a time metric.
Honestly, just speaking from personal experience here. Having been in AD since late wrath, I’ve seen alot of stuff posted about the Rotgarde & Perroy individually. And just back then casually checking the forums only at times and things being spread around, it kinda painted & still does, them in a negative light to many people, myself included back then.
But later on through the years, having taken time to read their own posts, ive found myself thinking they are more diffrent than first assumed, and having had discussions with them over the forums, they have atleast towards me, always been generally polite, Perroy himself included.
And now having ended up joining a PCU-guild/community, the people are there are very friendly.
So I do personally think there is alot of mud-flicking that is quite unfair, and due to the consistnecy it has been done its giving their community/guild a bit of an unfair view & appearance in people’s eyes.
Do we have any source on this? To me, it doesn´t make sense for draenei to get ability to adjust tail length and then have Lightforged stay the same.
Or customization for tauren that does not exist for Highmountain that won´t be applied to them.
I’m sure if you consistently show goodwill you’ll get a chance eventually big P is pretty big on second chances for people willing to change their ways.
