I think it is absolutely what upsets the Lower Order, namely being insanely good @ role play while also being argumentative when challenged and making a clear stance on any matter, there is simply nothing to attack that would be beyond “b-but you were rude to me once =(” (in this case “rude” equals to disagreeing)
Yeah it’s the old “you were rude (read: disagreed) to me once so I will now dedicate my time on AD to being your nemesis”, that is a rule set in stone by now
If you don’t want to RP with us, then don’t, we can’t pressure you into anything OOC
Aye lad
The PCU community is incredibly diverse with people from all over the world of different lifestyles, I don’t know what you can possibly mean unless you are letting IC weirdly bleed into OOC – I am not sorry at all that Morsteth was once rude to [self insert character name] / [exotic hostile race character]
Just don’t role play with us then, unless you demand we acknowledge the character / role player in question while also only being epicly friendly to them IC, to me that’s too crazy
So never, alright lol
Again, there is no pressure and there can be no pressure – don’t like us for strange and fabricated reasons ? Don’t RP with us
If situations like that are common, then I wouldn’t be too surprised to hear people being reluctant to not only admit defeat, but want to get in to conflict scenarios.
At least I feel hesitant to have my Zandalari Troll want to accept challenges or challenge anyone.
Nobody can force you to let your character be beheaded. If he agrees to let it happen that’s his choice. Having it be something with a lasting consequence, such as your dead character’s skull being part of someone’s outfit to me seems preferable to have it be like it never happened.
half the fun of roleplay is your characters being put in losing/tough situations and how they come to terms with it and deal with it
i’ve found refusing to participate in or outright ignoring situations where you can lose makes your roleplay quite dull and unamusing because you are always the winner
People are too afraid to face defeat in roleplay and it does neither them nor the general scene any good—and I say face, instead of suffer, because I don’t think it should be viewed as an inherently bad thing.
Defeat is a broad definition that covers more than instantly losing the character you’ve invested years of time and emotion on; it can be losing a fight, suffering injuries in battles, or simply being proven wrong. All this makes up such a boost for development that it astounds me more people don’t use it as a hook to further progress their character and change as the world changes around them. There’s no progress in always winning and always coming out of conflict unscathed, and ultimately, neither is there satisfaction.
I look back at my arrival on AD with a handful of people and the Great Clowning I was faced with for role playing what I enjoy and where it lead me, some villains (me) are truly made by the server’s community
Why is that two faced? I haven’t looked at his whole post, assuming the quote you posted is what you want people to see.
He thinks it looks cool, has hope and thinks it looks solid.
How does that affect what he wrote in this thread?
I don’t understand how that is two faced or mixed signals.
I can tell someone I dislike or disagree with that their idea is amazing right now.
And then later I can tell them I dislike them or disagree on something else.
That post seems a bit like the thing that damages the community, the whole “but you said this and that back then! Ha! Gotcha! Your post is now irrelevant!”.
Why do the PCU higher ups act like it’s bad rep just appeared, unwarranted from thin air one day . Feel free to educate me invetween you thread bloating memes, you’re all here anyway.
