Asm- Nelox!
I’m back with another weekly discussion and it seems the majority of you plebs have chosen the Hourglass Figure / Perfect Female as your most wanted next topic. Very well I shall deliver. This “concept” has existed since the start of fiction and it is no surprise that has spread to RP as well. This is possibly one of the most used words to describe the body of a female character on AA cuz every one likes to RP their modded Skyrim female characters’ bodies and in the great Warcraft Universe.
Personally I don’t dislike it because every female is a model, I just dislike it because its the only thing you see nowadays in a female character’s profile and its not really diverse. But besides the hourglass descs, what are your thoughts on the “perfect females” you see in RP?
Also leave suggestions on what to talk about next cuz I’ll be running out of ideas eventually.

On one hand, every female character being a top model is
On the other, the ones that -are- ugly in some way are usually so for uncouth motivations re: the player who made them.

Step 1 : Write a Male character.
Step 2 : Once you’re do erase ever male pronouns for female ones.
Step 3 : You’ve writen a good character.
Step 4 : Profit.
Hidden step : I am obviously being facetious.

Saw one of those perfect females make poor life choices… guess she lacks common sands…
Whats there to discuss tbf, besides it being laughable, imagine seeing an hourglass shaped tauren/pandaren/goblin or orcs for which this description would actually be the opposite.

I prefer my ladies pear shaped.
I prefer my ladies 2 metres wide and 3 feet tall.
I see you too have met our guild master.

There’s a stigma against describing characters as ‘beautiful.’ It’s considered a lazy move, a sign that you’re incapable of creating an attractive character and have to resort to just stating that they’re attractive.
That’s where the hourglass comes in. It’s a term used to describe the most conventionally attractive type of body a woman can have in Western media. It’s the easiest way of saying that your character is conventionally attractive, without resorting to words like ‘beautiful.’

The fun part about it is people forget how their race and culture views beauty.

In which case, what do you think it is the typically attractive body type for women of each race and culture in the setting?
It’s an interesting thought experiment, and a good use for the thread besides just railing on hourglass usage.

Well, for orcs its definitely muscular, looks like she can hold her own, is strong etc.
Durotan certainly thinks about it in his brief appearance in Lord of the Clans.

Just some examples
Trolls: tusks
Elfs: ears/chin… because they are constantly trying to poke the sun with it
Pandaren and tauren: the fur.
Gnomes: length.
Elves: the depth of their moonwell.
Humans: waiste, because in the middle ages beauty standards where different…
Orcs: muscular, because strong orcs like strong woman.
Etc

Rounded shapes, I’d argue, more so than fur. For pandaren, that is. They often emphasise it among NPCs.

Now I wonder if pandaren can get too fat. Restraint when it comes to food and drink is not exactly practiced in their culture.
My guess is that it is like the concept of fat elves. Presumably their metabolism, and also the limited physical space of their stomachs, ensures that there is some kind of ‘cap’ to how wide they get - ensuring they stay in their ideally healthy range.

I think the lack of automation and how food is not stuffed with all those Es prevents that.
I think when it comes to each race’s preferred female form, a good place to start is at the models themselves. Just to get an idea.
So orcs are muscular, pandaren are rounded, trolls and tauren are kind of athletic etc.
