Okay, I play horde on < Firemaw > A huge EU server for sure, and this has been going on for months now, and is in my opinion pure griefing.
What happens is, and this occurs on both Horde and Alliance side I’m sure, classes that can dispell just end up death camping POI over there world where smaller or larger groups of people meet / collect buffs, for me, it’s usually Kargath, Searing Gorge and all over Felwood and dispell all your buffs or as many as they have time to and then die, wait until more people gather and then repeat, that’s all they do, for hours.
Is this allowed under TOS? I see the same people from the same guilds doing this every day of the week, using hours of their time just for the purpose of making life harder for everyone else.
Wait, world buffs can be dispelled? I have done at least one Garr fight with the Rallying Cry, that was the only buff I had left at the end of the battle.
As far as I’m aware you can’t dispel Rallying cry but you can with DM and song flower as well as potion buffs.
It is allowed and Blizzard won’t do anything about it as its still classed as Wpvp just like they won’t do anything about ganking or coprse camping if your on a PvP server they will just direct you to the page that says think carefully about what type of server you choose as they won’t intervene.
Couldnt agree more. On firemaw theres this douchebag of a lvl 45 dwarf priest whos constantly dispelling everyone in kargath 24/7… like seriously get a life and stop griefing others
Okay, but then what is the fun/point of playing on a PvP server? I mean the whole concept of PvP server is based on ‘griefing’ I’ve hardly seen any fights on server where there is a ‘fair’ fight initiated with equal numbers, equal gear or equal intent.
Probably one of the reasons they removed PvP servers all together in retail, you can’t have a PvP server if you’re not willing to accept griefing.
Yup, like corpsecamping and ganking it’s annoying but it’s not griefing.
Don’t want him dispelling your raid? Kill him repeatedly until everyone arrives and then leave before he rezzes.
PvP problems have PvP solutions.
So… you would rather get killed than get your WBs dispelled? And fearing is griefing aswell? Mind controlling into lava is grieving aswell? Stun you (as a rogue) so a mob kills you for repair costs is grieving? Fearing you under water is grieving? Looking at you as an alliance is grieving since you seem to get anxiety for the stupidest reason?
It’s actually real close to 24/7. Make a Horde character on Firemaw and type /who felwood, it’s usually got a couple lvl1s on it spying on Horde characters; they then log to their priests to dispell.
Normally I don’t question what people do in game, but I honestly don’t see how anybody can get joy out of paying for 2 accounts just to dispell dire maul and songflower buffs.
It’s been going on for months and there’s multiple people doing it. Just seems odd to me. They’re even online doing it at 4am.
I’d rather get killed, because at least then the person has to actually WIN the fight. This is literally just priests suicide dispelling.
Mind controlling you constantly and actively making it impossible for you to even control your character is considered griefing. There’s fair play, and there’s plain old griefing.
Players from both factions do this, make no mistake. Definitely a scumbag move in my book though. Unfortunately lots of basement dwelling sociopaths play this game, so I don’t see such antics going away anytime soon.
