This mentality is what I mean.
No, you are making this up. You cannot possibly be of the human species. Are you a stranded alien on this sorry planet?
I think you’ll find pretty much no one outside of savage raiders do that or even care.
Says a void elf.
Mentality of the game being Adaptable by multiple playerstyles… to cater to a Wider audience?..
no. Clicking Will make the game much Slower… and irritating for most… while i can accept you have the rights to this opinon… u must reliese this opinon is so far into the Minority that you have to Respect it does have to stay for the rest of us
games are created to Amuse you, entertain you… which means the game Does have to actually cater to a Extent to us.

The fact that you need a 3rd party system to change UI in the game creates the illusion that you are entitled to more then what you should get.
I don’t mean to be funny but how do you know what people think they are entitled to?
I don’t use addons to enhance actual content, just one to make sure I don’t miss any quests, one to keep track of everything my characters have in inventories etc and another to make sure my prices in the AH are fair. I don’t feel these impact anyone else or that, honestly, it’s anyone else’s business what I use.
So no, I don’t think the ones I use ruin the game but I can’t speak for ones I don’t use. Neither do I feel any more entitled to things. I am utilising something that does not break my Ts&Cs with the game for my own private use within the game.
I apologise if I have misunderstood your post or offended in anyway.
GCD has always existed, it is just what is on the GCD that is causing the anguish lately.

please remind us of what decursive did to the game:
Was the case, this is no longer possible since pre-BC patch.
The point being people only defend addons because they can’t be bothered to play the content properly
Addons provide information and provide out of combat enhancements, that’s all.
Road signs don’t drive for you but they guide you through, that’s what addons do too.

Why can’t acti-blizzard just have some built into there game and ban all 3rd party addons?
They can but why would they? what’s the difference? things that are forbidden are blocked at the API level so there’s no reason whatsoever to prevent people from creating addons and block any sort of customizations and enhancements due to people’s ignorance.
They would not, addons use a whole API infrastructure made specifically for addons from day 1, it is part of WoW.
Why are they 3rd party systems if they are made for wow?
Why do some addons get banned if they are made for wow and blizzard support them?
I like addons, and the fact that you can play with them or without them, at your own discretion.
And frankly I’d much rather see addons crowdsourced, as opposed to have the dev team for wow be even more overworked, which I’d guess would result in a worse game.
Just my 2 cents on this.

Why do some addons get banned if they are made for wow and blizzard support them?
because Blizzard says NO. This is why.

Why are they 3rd party systems if they are made for wow?
This question doesn’t make a lot of sense so you might want to elaborate.
Why do some addons get banned if they are made for wow and blizzard support them?3
Blizzard doesn’t really ban addons they break their functionality and common cases in the past were some addons violated the ToS, went against their design philosophy or caused technical issues but nowadays most of the problematic APIs that were used got removed/changed or have limited access.
Blizzard support the platform not the addons themselves.
3rd party system, a programme created by an outside person or people, outside of blizzard that is.
Then we download them and intwine with blizzard’s game.
They are allowed. But they shouldn’t be.

They are allowed. But they shouldn’t be.
And nothing you can do about it. Instead of hiding behind level 20 alt you could work on our main so your RIO is better and you don’t have to agitate for no addons to get invited to higher tier content.

a programme created by an outside person or people, outside of blizzard that is.
It’s a lua script. More advanced macro you can write in game. It can draw, write, read - use functions provided by Blizzard. It can’t do anything more than what Blizzard scripting environment allows it to.
No. Addons are great.
Addons are fine, generally speaking most addons people will have installed are for QOL and very few are for game performance increase, or atleast thats in my case atleast.

They are allowed. But they shouldn’t be.
Well, Blizzard made this decision long time ago and addons are here to stay although I do think that the standard UI should be improved and allow people that don’t use addons a better experience regardless to the content they do or the level they play.
Addons can be a double edge sword if taken too far. Example: RiO and Gearscore.
I think visual/audio/UI addons are completely harmless and makes my life a lot better.
Such as making my UI less cluttery, too many stuff gives me sensory overload and cannot concetrate.
Also keeps my quest-log organised and lets me browse for things to collect instead looking up in a browser that may break my pc lol
