It’s not happening.
The only way it’s ever happening is if Void Elfs were removed and replaced with High Elfs, and that’s never happening.
Furthermore, their pointed ears have been greeted with admiration or mockery by other races.
Humans and dwarves often make fun of their ears by comparing them to those of donkeys, swine or worst of all goblins.
Haem… And there are lost mind elves who want to play with humans a dwarves 
High elves = blood elves
Others “elves” = fools
Join the red army and come back in the motherland com’rades. 
IMO I think it was a huge mistake to give high elf customization options to void elves.
If anything, they should have gotten more void-like customizations: tentacles coming out of their backs, N’zoth-like slit red eyes, more eyes on their faces, half skin-half void like Zuraal the Ascended from The Seat of the Triumvirate, etc…
Anything corrupted by the void should be a monstrosity, not a pretty elf.

They opened a box they can never close with high elves. The race wasn’t enough. Next thing they will do is giving Silvermoon to the alliance.
You can keep Silvermoon, not enough tentacles there.
How much you wanna bet the Ruins of Silvermoon become the Alliance quarter? Maybe the Kirin’Tor set up shop there.
