Do something about the single item spam on the auction house please

I shouldn’t have to spend 10 minutes scrolling through 30,000 single silk cloths on the auction house to find out what the price of a stack of silk cloth is so I can sell a stack of silk cloth.

And no I don’t want an auction house addon.

I’m actually tempted at this point to read up on the API and develop an add-on that automatically hides any auction house items that are stacks of X(user can specify) on the auction house or something.
It would exclude items that aren’t stackable, of course.

Adapt or suffer as they say, bro. Those addons make OP a non-issue.

Change the sort order on bids price so it lists from high to low price. Then you have less to sort through to see which stack is cheapest.

Already a recent thread about this. Punyelf posted a script command to sort them by price. Look it up and make a macro.

Welcome to classic. You do know you can search for said item lessening the scroll.

/run SortAuctionItems(“list”, “buyout”)

I don’t use an addon either and it’s a pain.

Simple fix: remove layering and cap servers at Vanilla limit of around 2.5K.

I am probably missing something obvious, but how does this work? I made a macro and used it, and I tried pasting it directly in chat, but apart from the warning screen about running scripts, nothing happened. (And yes, I used it while browsing the AH, ofc. Tried various options… linen cloth, bags etc.)

It just orders the list in buyout price

Yes, I get that that is what it should do - I am just saying that it doesn’t work for me, and I am wondering what I’m doing wrong.

If someone else’s add-on forces you to install one to counter it, then that person’s add-on is volatile. No add-on should have enough impact that it affects something as basic as how someone else can purchase something.

Add-ons are supposed to be for the end-user’s convenience. Not the inconvenience of others.

I have that macro-ed and all I do is open the AH and press it once and it does it for me.

Irony is that is most likely an addon that creates the single auctions. I doubt that some monkey is sitting there manually creating 50 auctions with 1 item of cloth each. Auctioneer has a “feature” that can split up stacks into single listings and that addon works in Classic apparently.

Funny how I get this deja-vu moments from 15 years ago when people used to complain about the same things.

Welcome to Classic, pal. Adapt to the new game or use an addon.
