Do this or watch your game die in midnight (Not even kidding)

no you dont need them ! but you want them … thats the whole point its not about the neediness of it its about the quality of life

do you need breakfast in the morning ? no , anscesters use to go hunting in the morning for breakfast , now its different ! ( i still do morning fasting btw to this from time to time and im still breathing dosnt mean its nice )

addons were nice , specially the ones that didnt involve combat auras like weakauras etc … being able to fully customize your ui to your liking all that kind of stuff they were quality of life and all of that is going away which isnt good

idk which 24 bosses you are talking about , but again weakauras are not tied to some specific fight like fract or ovinax , even in raid it was nice to have better visuals of what boss is casting when where how , who is doing what and all that info without weakauras those bosses are gonna be unbelievably harder maybe even borderline impossible for some guilds ( it will for sure past world top 100 ) you will have guild killer bosses that this time wont even have weakauras to help ease out … there will be pug nightmares for hc/nm players … dont buy into this idea that they will make bosses easier this is fake news is have said it before its a lie they will not make them easier !

nexus king is a pretty good example of this , you literally dont need a single weakaura ! for nexus king on all difficulties … all the way to mythic none required , but having them will make that fight incredibly easier to play

Let it play out if blizzard dont deliver and make classes worst to play in midnight the game deserves to die let it happen.

They never said that the bosses will be easier. I dont know what delusions you have, but maybe read the articles before spouting nonsense.

Not to mention how wrong you are about WAs. But i will not engage on that any further.

im not gonna read anything blizzard writes down , you are dumb if you do ( which you are btw ) if you think that anything blizzard writes down has any validity you are beyond braindead

the amount of time they have failed on delivery or gone extremely vague with stuff so far from day 1 of this game is out of reach completely , its gotten to a point everytime there is a blizzard post most people read it with sarcasm , its very common among content creators and streamers , its constant mock : oh look another blue post by blizzard that has dev note , and the dev note is some kind of bed time story by grandma that clarifies nothing , just vague words … so they can back of at any point and be like oh we didnt mean it that way go read the blue post  no ty thats for ppl like you

the word on the street is they will have to slowdown with designing ultra complex encounters that will be unplayable without WA’s which makes sense on a basic but i think we can all assume that they will fail to deliver that as it took team years and years of encounter design to align the difficulty properly with the existance of WA’s they not gonna pull an all nighter suddenly out of thin air and come out of the gate with a well oiled machine … first season will probably be a disaster if not worst than that ( which i dont even know how to phrase it ) bosses will most likely be hard , maybe not necessarly tied to requiring Weakauras but they will be extremely hard like S1 shadowlands level where you cant even clear normal till they nerf some stuff .

Said by the guy that gets flamed in every post he writes. You hate WoW and yet you play it. I feel sorry for you because you are clearly an addict

May you find the strength to let go and educate yourself

This is why people are calling the add-on/encounter tug-of-war an “Arms race”, early fights were made trivial (Or at least easier than intended) by add-ons, so Blizz made fights more complex to compensate (Having the race to world first over in a day is rather anticlimactic), so the add-ons are adjusted to cover the extra mechanics, so the next tier, everything is made yet more complex, and so on.

By banning combat add-ons, Blizz will have a single baseline to design encounters around, and there won’t be a need for constant complexity-creep any more.

I can see where you are coming from but blizzard may actually deliver this time with the add on replacements but only time will tell. I have not purchased midnight im gonna keep monitoring and wait for streamers who dont have blizzard bias to talk and see what they have to say.

The complexity creep came from the function of addons that could solve and auto assign mechanics. That is gone with the API restriction. However those addons also provided a lot more than solving mechanics, they also tracked mechanics, buffs, debuff and let you customize those mechanics the way you wanted. That is now also gone. What Blizzard have said about the mechanics is that they will reduce the “random mechanics” such as volley of swirlies and extend reaction times. Visability will still be an issue and telegraphing will still be an issue.

Hopefully yes, but this is also a “what was first, the chicken or the egg?” type of issue. Before raid logic addons were a thing, there was one type of boss mechanic which butchered most 25 man guilds: “10 yard spread, NOW”

This is when range checks were added to DBM, and I see this as the first step towards encounter specific WAs that assign you to positions, marks, time your soaks etc.

Will these evolved mechanics remain in midnight when addons are gone? Who knows.

Yes exactly i think for a lot of players they like the customization that add ons offer compared to what blizzard can and they are AAA game developers lol they better be hard at work on things.

this will never happen and here is why : blizzard lovessssss the RWF , they think that RWF is the biggest most important thing that happened to they’re game and they will do just about anything to keep it going ( they have proven in the past by making stric changes in favor of those ppl how important this is for them )

why do they care about it so much ? simple they are stupid  they think that RWF is some kind of free advertisement for the game and every 6 months that RWF happens wow viewership on twitch bumps up by a bunch and then dumps down in less than a day once raid is over  blizzard thinks that during that 1 or 2 week of RWF they generated so many new players ( which they didnt btw  thats not how wow works most ppl who watch RWF are former players of the game or they have 0 interest in playing it they just watch it for the sake of nostalgia )

but regardless blizzard thinks to themselves oh look we just got a bunch of new players now how do we keep them playing ? the game is to complicated ! we need to simplify it … but if they simplify it then there will no longer be a RWF to begin with , so you can see how naive a company is base on they’re decision making , they dont even know they’re demograph the ppl who play the game etc etc …

so no they are stuck in a crossroad which is showing perfectly in alpha right now they have no clue what to do , they were like ok lets close this whole addon mess and make the game more approachable for those new players we think we are getting ( in our own head every 6 months ) but at the same time they are like wait we might ruin the game for our free advertisement team so what do we do now ?

not gonna lie this expansion is gonna be so much fun to watch  its gonna be SL on steroids , i mean atleast shadowland recovered a bit towards the end , i doubt this one will ever live to recover from anything .

Exactly. Its the same argument as “Classic Era/WoD/C++/Hardcore is so popular it pays for retail”. No, people like watching it, they don’t like playing it,

Literally proves nothing. Try again.

So to summarize; you don’t read what blizzard writes, assume the worst and are now doom and glooming because of it? Yeah sure why not call others brain dead :stuck_out_tongue:

Wait, so you think that if things go as they are planned now… All mythic raiders will quit the game? (A few of them will, the rest will wail and gnash their teeth for a bit and then keep playing)

Also, the idea that the “mythic raider”-bracket is big enough in number to qualify as “The people who play the game” on their own is downright laughable.

I think that if the RWF-group were to somehow all vanish, WoW would still keep going quite nicely with all the other players, because as you said yourself, the massive importance of a race between a dozen guilds is mostly in Blizzard’s own minds.

no mythic raiders and RWF are 2 totally different things … and thats not what i said

yes wow will survive without RWF guilds (which is basically 2 only echo/liquid) infact it will do even better without them because now they can do what they like in a more free way , i cant predict what they will do if they had that freedom would be better for the game or worse but atleast they can make decisions freely now … without having to constantly worry about - OH BUT WHAT ABOUT THE RWF - and our free advertisement

if they dumb down the raid to much it will be Emerald nightmare 2.0 everything falls overnight , if they get it wrong the rest of the community will suffer in pain , so whats the answer ? them getting it right while having all addons disabled overnight ( which is like 3-4 months ) yeah GL with that , if anyone has a singular working cell in they’re brain they would understand that in that short of a timeline it would not be possible

yes im also one of those guys who does watch something but does not play it , i regularly watch blast premier tournies from cs go , but do i play cs go ? no last time i logged was like 2019 or something … same thing with wow many ppl will watch the RWF but almost none play , there was a survey done once during one of these races cant remember which one but the numbers was like 70to30 something like that 70% not playing the game at all !

Buddy, I really think you should quit everything about wow.
