The past year I haven’t been able to be reliable enough to raid, that has changed now and I can raid again but almost every guild is just farming Naxx or waiting for TBC.
It’s a shame that I’ve missed so much content and I’m sure I’m not the only one that would appreciate the ability to have new rolling Classic servers where things can be experienced again, for example Scarab Lord, Naxx Invasions etc.
I think this also appeals to the no changes crowd, if I remember the server I was on back in the day called ‘Nagrand’ did the full AQ opening event and Naxx event because it was a new server for TBC.
This also occured during WoWLK, this was how some Deathknights were able to get the Scarab Lord mount and title.
Yes, Blizzard commented on Classic Era fresh - it won’t happen now but it may happen in the future.
Also on some “empty” realms people rolled in large groups to have a sudo-fresh start prior to TBC. If you want to go through Classic raids that’s your best option right now. MC, BWL, AQ20 and ZG are pretty doable in 1-2 months, then we will get close to prepatch or at the prepatch where you can still do AQ40 and some of Naxx.
Yes. Blizz have tasted some of the succes they have for a very long time been to ignorant to realise- the quality of the game released by their peers. SURE they will not deny the possibility. Not this time around. But one thing is also that time has changed. Many people, indeed were aching for classic. And wanted to experience it once again. But the bulk just did, and Blizzard has not been treating the bulk very well. The bulk will not return any time soon.
I give you a good chance in ~2030 or so though. It IS a great game. Just requires a new group of followers looking out for it once again.
Yes, fresh Classic servers are coming. They just want to focus on their new (old) cash cow first namely TBC. When that’s all working well, they may release some fresh Classic servers for their “Classic Era” audience. I personally can’t wait for fresh Classic servers, TBC is not my thing with the flying mounts, resilience, and no faction-exclusive classes…
I’d really like to see fresh Classic servers, as well. My suggestion would be to release them at the same time as the era realms and meanwhile disable all new character creation on the era realms. The era realms should be transfer only, in my opinion. At the end of each cycle, characters from the regular classic realms over a certain level (I’d say at least lvl 40) are transferred to the era realms and fresh classic realms are released, where any new characters will have to be created from then on.
And I’d also really like if the progression of the phases could go a bit more slowly and if the original alterac valley could come back to the game.
