Do you enjoy Pathfinders over MoP flying?

420? what? max is 310, and pala/dk have their aura. am i missing something that is slowing me by 100%?
The annoying thing about ground mounts is, like you said daze (yes i know there is a bs item, but its limited duration), and all the obstacles constantly in your way, especially when something is on a hill, but only one side of the hill gets you up there. an example is the bird world boss in tiragard sound, only one path up that mountain, but you have to circle the whole thing to find it, and boss could be dead by then.

thats what i said, instances/areas. areas would be the wq’s. and to a lot of mount/transmog farmers, flying to the same instance every week would be painful, especially if they try on multiple toons.

well, while activision are firing…!

and like a few people have said here, and has been stated by others elsewhere, with the lack of flying people, including myself, ignore the current expansion once they hit lvl cap, and go back to the LAST expansion to do stuff until flying is available. grinding herbs/ores/archaeology/wq’s is easier in legion than bfa, so lots of people are completing legion content rather than bfa content. i know myself i have spent very little time in bfa lands, instead going back to MoP, WoD and Legion to complete the archaeology there.

I prefer buying it from a vendor. Maybe pathfinder should be for a cool mount.

I think blizzard is losing subs instead of gaining more time played in the zones when they do this, I avoid WQ in bfa unless I really ‘have’ to for some reward, while I do more WQ in the warfronts WQ’s where I can fly…

I don’t quit because of this, but I think many just unsub when they don’t want to ‘waste’ time riding around anymore and flying is not coming until new zone is coming, effectively making BfA and legion no flying when its current content, exactly what the DEVS wanted, but disgusing it by here is flying, but only when you have 0 use for it anymore…

stupid decision making by Blizzard imo.

just make it work like vanilla-wotlk did.

Pathfinder is a horrible kludge.

It is completely anti-RP. It makes no sense whatsoever in the context of the game. What’s the in-game justification for doing these specific irrelevant things to allow you to fly? On diferent characters, no less?

The grating sense of artificial and arbitrary is over 9000.

And all the other things that people have already said.

And I’ll add another. IMO,

  1. alts should not be able to fly in current content until they are max level, and
  2. they should be able to fly in previous expansions.

I’m not sure that I will bring alts up through BfA at all. Scaling leaves nothing of the levelling game to enjoy. But if I do, they should get their experience hoofing it. Cutting through an area on a rogue is very different to doing so on a priest. Applying flying to alts removes that.

I have all my previous pathfinders, but I do sympathise with others who don’t, and have to go back and grind the irrelevant nonsense to “earn” it for their other characters/

100% + 310% + 10% from I can’t remember what = 420%. It’s always been like this and you can see it for yourself with the advanced character stats addon to show your movement speed.

Yeah, that was exactly my point. Lore quests and especially rep grind are completely irrelevant to exploring Kul Tiras as a continent. Whether they’re easy to complete or not, has nothing to do with it. To me it seems they added them as requirements for the sake of “not handing” flying effortlessly. In WoD you had to farm treasures, and tbh, i see why they did that (chasing treasures = climbing hills, trees and rivers = exploring Draenor) but the rest? 🤦‍♂

oh, im presuming the 100% is normal movement? i didn’t think anyone counted that when they talk about mount speed. its either 60/100% for ground, and 150/280/310% for flying. still mean that flight points travel at 410%~ speed anyway.

Yeah. Mounts are basically visual buffs which increase your base movement speed by x%

Doesn’t matter much I guess

Old way flying with gold is for me. Screw Pathfinder.

If people wanna explore they will - Pathfinder is kinda forced exploration.
It’s also feel like cheap way of gating and 6 month+ and still no flying - that’s bad.

Not flying worked fine in the classic wow because the zones were almost entirely flat bowls of content that you almost exclusively had to do just once per character.

Flying is an important tool for mitigating the sheer boredom of traversing the zones for the “World chores” as well.

Pathfinder fails because of two things:
1)It is time gated so we need to wait forever to be able to fly often when we do not need flying anymore cause we are in a new no fly zone.
2)It is a freaking rep grind that is much long than what is needed to see all the outdoor content the expansions have to offer. It should had been at Honored and not revered

Imo. The rep requirement should be lowered to honoured when a new expansion is launched.

I hate the pathfinder crap it takes so long to get that when i actually get it the expansion will be over and new one is at the door with new boring lame patfinder crap.

Its just soul crushingly boring to do off butting and mostly makes me just go and play games that are actually fun to play.

Also it takes like what few days or weeks to explore everything in the new expansion while pathfinder takes months or a year to get.

Its just generally off butting

Considering the pathfinder is made up of generic WPvE content that you’ll get without even thinking about it; Why are you playing the game if you find it this unfun? :stuck_out_tongue:

Mostly i don’t i have avoided turtle quests because i find most of them just boring and the locations of the quests bore to travel. Also after legion which had too much WQ crap i just have felt WQ burnout in bfa generally.

Bfa might be the first expansion i just wont bother with flying and wont return after the expansion is over and done.

people asked for it…but when activision implemented it they thought timegating it for 2 years was also what we wanted…they just don’t know how to make anything good anymore

Flying will be out before 1 year of BfA has even passed. It’s what they want though; a healthy chunk of the expansion limited to ground, and as more content gets introduced then flying gets added to the old stuff whilst the new stuff remains grounded.

It’s good imo, nothing wrong with that unless you’re constantly playing at an extreme state of urgency and need to get from A to B as fast as possible (aka flying).

I do not play the game to do World chores, genius, I play it to do my personal goals either story or gearing up.
I bet that almost nobody plays the game out of finding joy in doing WQs
If there is no forced reputation grind or rewards like the dust to make legion legendaries I would not had been doing world quests

Yes, getting flying by ‘‘learning the land’’ or whatever feels better than just ‘‘Oh heres 5k gold cya’’
