The griefing I personally saw or been subjected to had nothing to do with PvP. It was usually people running around in deliberately stupid armour sets (this was before transmog feature so they went out of their way to not only farm but also keep those sets in their bags) or naked while spamming “lol so random XD” garbage in both /say and /yell channels in the middle of roleplay events. As well as jumping onto tables and standing in front of or on top of others characters.
There were also a few whose main schtick was mounting up a little distance away from any happenings (so they couldn’t be accused of direct trolling) and then spamming /mountspecial at just the right distance where you could still hear it while they filled up the chat with repetitive emotes directed at no one.
Been told by some game masters those are valid ways to play the game and they can’t punish someone over “misguided” attempts at roleplay. The first few times it happened it was sort of funny and our group tried to integrate the loller into our roleplay by pretending they were a village idiot or someone driven insane by shadow magic or an old god. However, it got old eventually and there’s only so many times you can humour such antics before it drags down the roleplay.
There were a lot of game masters who did actually punish such players by silencing them or giving them a temporary ban for repeat offenses but unfortunately as time went on and the game grew bigger an increasing number of game masters didn’t take any action until it got to the point we are at now. You can openly grief roleplayers and even announce that you are doing so in chat but nothing will be done about it because customer support is essentially a glorified chatbot currently.
Unfortunately Blizzard’s attitude to customer support would need to be overhauled for a real change which is why I don’t want to put moderating AD into the hands of the current support agents who in most cases are just reading off a script without even knowing anything about the game.
Meh, not really. The way in which you formulated your point completely invalidates any attempt to mirror it to what I have written. First of all, of all the posts you quoted about me, no one gets close to your statement.
My point is about the perspective: if I am right, I am right because what I say is a factual truth, which anyone can discern with proper reasoning and information. It’s not about who makes the claim, the claim that is made is simply testifying the truth. I am the third-person bystander assessing that the earth is round, whereas your claim is close to pope’s infallibility doctrine.
Whereas you…
Your point isn’t based on the quality of your arguments / any objective truth, it’s just you wanting to be right really, really hard. According to your post, if you ever claimed that the earth is flat, you’d be correct regardless. Which makes it stupid - and draws a first line between what I said and what you said.
This to highlight the difference between my approach and yours. Second, saying:
is a cautionary claim which in no way contradicts the statement: I happen to be right and you happen to be wrong. It’s really that simple.
Perhaps you wanted to appeal to the fact that I am offering no argument to support my claim, hence my opinion just happens to be a random opinion with no more validity than yours - thus the criticism wouldn’t prove anyone correct about the thread, but would only prove that we have both used an ad hoc double standard (“I am right because I want to be right, I am special but offer no reason for it”) - which isn’t really a huge gotcha moment, and at best would lead to an impasse but it doesn’t. If it was the case, you’re forgetting that we have indeed argued beforehand, laid out our reasons, and I found my arguments more convincing, hence why you have arguments laid out that do testify the validity of my opinion, and why I keep stating that my position is, indeed, correct.
I hope it clarified things for you.
Absolutely
But its a weakness for me! I love satire and in RP its my characters flaws that make it interesting to explore - as well as sparking fun RP encounters.
Yet this man its doing it for real.
Absolutely lmao cause that’s all his argument boils down to
We’ve had several posts in which I did argue in favor of my points. Why don’t you engage with these?
I’m interested in understanding what’s going on: Woe is engaging with me, but is ignoring the content of the posts so-to-speak. I do understand that it’s a bit ludicrous to engage with someone like that because any content will inevitably be washed away, yet I want to see if there will ever be a breaking point or if this defense mechanism will be upheld. Though the stress of the previous days has been removed l, so I doubt I’ll be able to recreate that.
