Do you have to RP on Argent Dawn?

Will gladly drive people who have no interest in RP in AD while they can literally do whatever they do in any other realm in this game.

I’m not here to entertain, if you have interest, I welcome you to join, if not, I’m not doing a show for an audience.

So, y’all gatekeep, and just keep your little club an elitist little bunch. I see.

If being elitist is helping keep the only designated RP server in the game for people who want to RP, then sure, im elitist.

Can always not gatekeep, I suppose.

How is D&D doing these days anyway?
Or lord of the rings.
Star wars
Star trek
The list goes on really

See my story above. By keeping people out, you’re keeping potential roleplayers out too.

I have a lot of fun playing tabletop D&D, thank you. Fun I wouldn’t have if I didn’t join AD back when I had no intention to RP.

Nevertheless, technically, all of you who are gatekeeping, are wrong:

On an RP realm other players may expect you to develop a backstory for your character, to stay in character when interacting with others, and to contribute to the fantasy immersion of the realm’s community as a whole.

It’s not a requirement to RP on an RP realm. Just as it is not a requirement to play PvE on a normal realm, or PvP on a PvP one. You have no right to tell anyone how they choose a realm, as long as they respect the policies. You can respect the RP policies and RPers without RPing yourself.

I don’t care tbh. I am not here to hold hands and to slowly guide people in the road to RP. I am here to RP with other people who have interest in RPing.

I’m really not, it’s called common sense, thou seeing how you behave at chess meetings, I’m not surprised.

And so we do expect it of you.

Yet, nowhere does it say one has to oblige.

It’s common courtesy such an alien topic to you?

I love gatekeeping. Wish we’d gatekeep more. I will start off by gatekeeping the kit RPers, then move on to the ERPers, and finally the OOCers.

Do I want clean and based RP community in AD-RP? Yes I do.

If no one obliges, you have no RPers to watch.

Honestly, are you a full born idiot or what? How entitled do you have to be to not understand basic concept that if you do not RP - you shouldn’t be on RP realm?

Bet you never return the shopping cart.

Inb4 someone says “Non-RPers/OOCers are vital to the community”

Starts staring at the prices on AH

if you want to get technical dungeons are not serverbound at all
RPers also play content, but they also RP
sometimes they mainly play content and do little RP
sometimes they mainly RP and a little content.

Both of those are fine, speaking legally from Blizzards point of view even not RPing at all is fine, but that does mean that you actively rolled on a RP server with no intention of roleplaying which in my eyes is not much different from entering a bike shop with the intent to buy a car and honestly if I’d see someone do that in real life I’d go huh that’s kind of silly.

Also these ‘ha gotcha’ attempts of RPers expecting RP 24/7 at any given time is a failed arguement and used (as well as answerd too) thousands of times before, to the point where using that arguement simply makes you the dreaded ‘that guy’

Oh no, the general discussion people are at it again :frowning:

It’s not, indeed. But some people are too invested to get informed. In the end, seeing as being toxic is what they do best, they’ll just perpetuate the same stereotype anytime that something triggers them.

This is a discussion that occurred over and over. At this point, it is counter-productive to engage in dialogue, it won’t be meaningful either way.

I can simply say that indeed, you’re correct. As long as you don’t harass people you’re Gucci. AD is a welcoming server. Feel free to try it, if you’re curious!
