Do you see classic fresh staying alive fastforward 1 year from now?

With how Blizzard is handling things I genuinely wonder if people see any future for these servers.

With the amount of versions coming out I would say probably not. Numbers are noticably beginning to drop. it’s visible in SW. Plus it’s ruined by booster and bot skaven.

I expect big drop when pandaria classic will be released. And big increase in TBC pre-patch. Other than that - slow decline, as people would stop playing.

in one year Anniversary is nearing the end of TBC and poeple will be clamouring for Wrath, so yes, but one year+ more and it’s dead, Cata will kill it.

Hopefully we won’t be going into Cata this time.

You and I share the same dream. I will only play on the Anniversary servers if we’re promised Era servers - either Wrath or better TBC. So far I’m waiting, sitting on my names, but not playing.

What ? In 1 year TBC will be out Just a few month, Its a loved expansion

You just want to gank lowbies in your t3 or undergeared players, lets be honest

yes and also raid, farm open world, enjoy everything the game has to offer

i love classic too but era is to old, fresh going into tbc is just sick

You’re rigth … all that talk of speeding the scedule up made me mis-date the xpacs. I do not doubt people will play TBC and Wrath too … I will myself IF we’re promised Era servers at least for one of them.

Yea that would be nice indeed

More than nice, necessary. I won’t play Anni until they promise. I’ll just peacefully sit on my reserved names, playing Era and waiting

I may as well ask here. What do you actually do on Era? By the time Classic TBC came, I had every quest in the game completed, missed maybe 3-4 items from complete Naxx BiS and rode a purple cat. I was maybe a month or three from never having a reason to ever log my main again. Do you just level alts endlessly? What’s the goal? Having BiS on every class?

Yes. This is what I do. I actually do not care overmuch for Dungeons/raids or BiS.
I love the fresh start, the figth to survive the first levels with not enough bagspace, not enough money and all that. I love collecting every ingame recipe or pattern for my professions, I love doing every Quest. Then I roll a new alt to test out a new race/class combo. I loved character specific achievements exactly because of this, and stopped playing other Classics than Era when they sadly became accountwide.

My ambition is to have one of each Race/Class combo at max level in Hardcore - only not Rogues or Undeads. And when I have done this, I start over after the IronMan rules. This should keep me occupied the next many years - and more if Blizz make TBC Era servers.

I just started a lock on Anniversary Horde to get the Horde only recipes. Ran straight to Org from Razor hill where i learned mining and skinning, spent first 7s50c on 3 linen bags, then next 9s on a wand. By level 10 I made the money back selling copoer bars and vendoring skins, have all skills and 30s left over to buy better wand at 13. I can’t pretend I dont know the game to have a “survival” experience.

oh look another wow is dieing thread, people have been saying that since 2005…

You do you. I never buy bags, but wait for them to drop.
I hate to hurry, and yes even after over 100 characters I still read the Quest texts.

I got the AI voice mod for that. It’s surprisingly good.

Ditto. My thing with RPGs in general is if I replay them, I choose the most optimal, most overpowered (without blatant expoiting) way to play them. Like one shot last boss by a clever combination of spells and craftable consumables kind of thing.
