My fear is, that they are made look softer in the way of Gnomes. Dont take me wrong, i like Gnomes, especially in garden, but the current scruffy Goblins are just fine for me and mere quality increase would be great.
My fear is, that they lose options in faces like Tauren did and lose the favorite faces like what happened to me in male Draenei and Tauren.
This Troll also has not looked right after the update. He looks good, but the face is wrong.
I wish they would just give option to make faces with sliders instead of just using pre-made ones.
I’ve not seen all the options yet but from the before after mock up they look so much better. I guess we don’t want to lose options overal but, for me, they are certainly more appealling after the changes.
Though i like more race options, but for example i dont really count Kul Tiran people or Zandalar as separate race. They are just different trolls and humans.
Ir feels sad, that instead of giving more body options, they make the larger human bdy as seoarate race, locked behind an achievment.
Can you elaborate how? Do they look more plosihed, or do they look more beautiful for example?
Regarding the Worgen. I wish they would make female worgen look more like werewolves. They now look more like a furry womans body with a wolfpoodle head attached to it
I think they’ve made the female much cuter and doesn’t look like she hasn’t slept for a week. I think they’ve retained some of the gruff looking aspect of the male though.
I guess they’ve given the female worgen the same treatment and she’s got a cute puppy face now.
This is what i had feared. I fear they lose some of the “Corporate workaholic” appearances when made more cute. I looked at them myself now, iand i did not see anything near what face my female goblin in now using. More options, more faces should be the way in addition to old ones that should be just made to look a bit more polished with better resolution and polygons.
More options like nose separated from ears would also be nice. Male Nelf brow separated from facial hair and makeup separate from everything else. That sort of stuff.
Well, you know cute or sexy are the only types of female characters allowed in this game. Just look at some races like draenei or trolls, you can barely tell the women are of the same species as the men. Now it’s coming to the goblins. I’m not happy with it either.
Because playable goblins were introduced much later there wouldn’t be that much difference between new HD ones and current ones. Many people don’t realy see the difference on the arts they have shown until they look at them side by side.
It is always the faces i am mostly concerned of. We have seen from other races, that when they have improved the looks to meet todays standards, they have allso updated faces to “meet todays standards”, sacrificing the original faces in the process.
The face is the part, wgere the real difference between characters happen, since the customization is greatly lacking. This is why it is so important to keep the exact same face that they were before improving them to HD. The improvment process can be made without losing the original faces IF they want to do that.
Goblin they have shown on Blizzcon have pretty much the same face as available for the current goblin. Also in case of goblins shape of the face is determined by the ear customziation because this changes chin and nose alongside ears. So shape shouldn’t change much.
As for the texture there might a difference because they can’t use the current ones. They have draw them again because HD models use different UV coords and a full big face textures. SD models use quite small textures for only half of the face.
Golbins already lost all their classic faces when they made them playable. Just look at their pre cata models. Current goblin faces pretty much already almost fit the current modern stanards, all they need is just higher resolution.
I can’t speak for males because I don’t play them but the females look infinitely better, their faces atm are just awful. The worgen females still need work.
If you mean texture and overall quality, i agree. If you mean they are not cute enough, then i disagree, since the current looks are pretty much iine with what and who the Goblins are.
Though i would npot say they are awful now. They are just a bit lesser quality than the updated models.
The new models are nice, but theres some minor things that make them look off.
For me it’s honestly just the fact that their brows are now curved instead of a sharp line. The angle of the brows are also altered in a… quite significant way on closer inspection. And thats just one thing that makes them look way softer and… welcoming, I suppose. As opposed to the sleasy carsalesman I expect. I’d post a mockup I made to explain, but trust level is a thing now.
Is this on male or female or both? My fear about female brows is, that they will be angled in a “Fashion model” kind of way which seems to be the thing now, even while they look extremely unnatural and especially on Goblin. Elves they fit though, if done in a mild way.
