Do you think there's an actual sun god in wow? What's the lore behind solar wrath?

Tauren and kitty-man priests worship the sun so I really really hope they don’t just worship the Light without knowing it because if there’s a unique sun god then maybe tauren priests/paladins will get some cool unique effect. Altough nelf priests are still waiting for theirs so nvm. We will never get it anyway.
Also , what is the lore behind solar wrath? The moon based abilities obviously come from Elune but what about solar wrath and sunfire?

An’she is real and guides us all, only heathens would persume otherwise!

An’she, Rukhmar and the missed opportiunity with Zandalari druids which imo should be more solar oriented considering their racial aesthetics.

Honestly? Its the name for a Game effect, different cultures probably name it differently, for example, Tauren Druids using Moon based abilities will not be calling upon Elune, but upon Mu’sha, the moon. (Poor Blue Child Moon, they never get a look in!)

Its pretty much just the name for an effect, individual cultures would call it different things in game, in the same way that so many spells are ‘The Light’ yet Prelates do not call upon the Light at all.

I would love a unique sun godess (since they refer to An’she as “her”), altough I would prefer her to be equal to Elune, and by that I mean that some random player wouldn’t be able to just oneshot her. I honestly don’t want tauren to worship the holy light, a sun god would be so unique, and that would mean we have one more kind of holy magic.

An’she has Always been reffered to as ‘Him’, as far as I know.
In the Hall of Elders, on the Elder Rise of Thunder Bluff, hang scrolls telling some of the history of the race ;
One of them tells us bout the Moon and the Sun as eyes of the Earthmother, which she tore out in grief and sent spinning across the heavens, but the actual lore segment of importance here is in the scroll called ; The White Stag and the Moon.
It says that when Apa’ro in his flight from the Tauren hunters lept so high up into the heavens his antlers got entangled in the stars - It was then that Mu’sha found him as she chased her brother , An’she, towards the Dawn.
In game, I’ve only seen An’she referenced as him , aside from the scrolls…but maybe I missed something.

I agree with everything else btw, and if it’s a small consolation, the Druid spells like the new Wrath and Sunfire came later and are linked to the events of Aponi Brightmane and Tahu Sagewind, as they discussed that Hamuul Runetotem only taught them the ways of the Moon, like the Night Elves, but they were neglecting the aspect of the Sun.
So as it stands those little things like those spells are truly more the tauren’s own way of Druidism, in conjunction to what Hamuul Runetotem learned from Malfurion Stormrage /The Night Elves.

I do hope Blizzard will do the Tauren justice in the future, I don’t want to be a Nelf wannabe either, but as noted, they already took a smal step forward to that atleast(and then took a big stumble backwards with the Paladin Order hall, but let’s hope that gets retconned hard in the future…)

Oh I guess I misread something, the wiki really says “him” . It would be nice if an’she was a hot guy cough cough
What were we talking about again?
But seriously give us a sun god blizz pls.
And also unique effects for priests and paladins
Tauren–> sun priest (orange light)
Nelf–> moon priest (blue/silver light)
Troll–>loa priest (Talanji had blue-gold light but her loa was Rezan, and the loa of healing is Lokou so I assume holy priest trolls would choose her as their loa but we barely know anything about her.)

That would be cool, yes.
Have your Sunwalker ‘Judgement spell’ throw a Spear or a Tomahawk with the radiance of the Sun, for example.
Consecration illuminating the area in sunlight or a symbol of the Sunwalkers on the ground.
Same for the Prelates, a Spear or an axe shaped from the powers of the Loa (also please bring back Rezan, the coolest of the Loa  )

For BloodKnights perhaps more sword centric stuff instead of hamers, atleast show of the powers as a mix of arcane and holy, perhaps, something to set them apart too from the Alliance paladins.

It sucks that loa die so easily, but at least it seems their followers don’t loose their powers.

Another question is…do the Shadowlands have their own Sun (God) there as well? Or it’s always night there? What about moons?

if it’s always night it’s going to be not just an Undead paradise, but a Night Elf one too…

Have you ever though about PRAISING THE SUN?

If there’s not…we’ll just send in our legions of ‘Horde Paladins’ and Balance druids and clean that place straight up!

Why don’t you…‘Show us how we praise the Sun’?
/unsheathes weapons…

Also, some shameless propaganda, for our new Sunwalker flying mount, was going to say Prelate…but birds are not going to cut it ;

I don’t think so, big horns.

The Nightborne can find a nice home in some of the more “night” places.
We always have to listen to other Horde races and their woes, but can the Shal’dorei just have a quick say as well?

Well he was lured to a trap made by Blood god. I think it’s still improvement over being axed by one orc or eyebeemed by horned nelf. But yea, Rezan was super cool and it’s pity that he was offed so soon, kinda like Rastakhan.

Ahh you remind me to plead to daddy Blizzard for Bigger horns come Shadowlands…bigger horns with engravings! Like on our HighMountain kin’s Majestic Antlers.

Perhaps you listen…but do you understand our woes?
However, I’m Always open to negotiations with our allies, I’m sure we can come to suitable solutions on the matter.

We provided ample Mages during the War.
We listen and understand, loud and clear and I’m always willing to listen to the other races, but can the Suramar denizens finally get their quick say on matters?

About my horns ?
I suppose…but I’ll warn you this is a delicate cultural matter.

Obviously not…but they are getting a bit big…

Anyway, we should have our say on magical matters as well as having a fair voice on hunting the Banshee down.

Solar Wrath is being reverted to Wrath in Sadowlands.
Everything ‘‘Sun’’ for druids is a retcon for Horde druids which are a retcon themselves in lore lol.

I don’t see how any of the stuff you mentioned is a ‘retcon’, but you know ‘lol’.

Must be missing something here…Solar Wrath is just called Wrath but still powers Solar Eclipse….and Sunfire is also still a thing from what I gather….I guess so far the Sun will still shine for the Horde Druids
