Her existence is canon but nothing else has been confirmed. According to Wowpedia:
Lukou is a troll loa only mentioned in Shadow Hunter Ty’jin’s ability called Blessing of Lukou. It grants a chance to recover the vitality of an expired troop, and uses a healing spell icon, referencing Lukou’s RPG information described below.
having an ability called seal of Elune and screaming “For Elune”, if you assign her to a mission.
It was badly done, yes, but it wasn’t as lorebreaking as people claim. They should have simply used these quests to remind us (and maybe the nelves themselves) that their priests are warriors as well.
On the actual topic of a sun god: We have to remember that Tauren mythology is just that, a myth.
When Cenarius is actually walking around, Apa’ro is actually walking around.
They were driven to the brink of extinction by the Centaur, who did in fact come from underground (Maraudon).
And if Sunwalkers, Seers and Druids can channel the energies of the sun…how much of their mythology is actually myth?
I actually prefer nelf aesthetics to the highborne brunch because it mixes korean wooden architecture with ancient greek one. I always thought it was quite cool, and while the other cities are quite pretty they’re not imo that interesting in design approach.
I like both, but seeing as I mainly play Tauren(because reasons) I guess I’m am very fond of the great outdoors, despite living in a city myself, so a small inclination to the Night Elves wooden housing and and ruins.
That said, both Silvermoon(pls update,) and Suramar have plenty of greenery to make me feel comfortable.
I might be a bit late to the party and some of the points I will raise might already have been made, but here’s my contribution.
The whole cosmological system is extremely confusing and ambiguous, and no one has a clue what the chart in the Chronicles actually means. However, there is one very prominent theory that seems to be the correct one, and that’s the idea that both An’she and Mu’sha/Elune are a source of power related to the Light.
There is a tweet from Sean Copeland (it’s been deleted, I don’t know when that happened but it’s been archived by Wowpedia) which says the following: Both priests and paladins can wield the Holy Light. However, not all wield it through the same means (e.g., Elune, An’she) (from: https://wow.gamepedia.com/Blizzard_lore_posts#SeanCopeland).
Now since the tweet has been deleted, I am not sure if it’s still canon but it’s the best we have. The main reason why this is the best we have is because the cosmological chart doesn’t help us slightly, everything should be related back to a “major power” like the Light/Void/Nature/Elements etc. but it’s impossible to determine what kind of power Lunar/Solar should be categorised in. A reason to reject the theory is that Balance Druids are supposed to balance both powers, but if they’re both related to the Light, then there is no need to balance anything since they’re both the same anyway. We can respond to that by saying that the Druids might be mistaken and falsely think they’re both different.
I am not happy with this theory at all, since it makes the differences between for example Tauren Seers and the regular Priests, but also Sunwalkers and Paladins even smaller, and it doesn’t do justice to the different philosophies of the races we have. But I also think this is the most logical conclusion we can draw from the knowledge we have right now, there’s just nothing else that can help us here.
I wish that happened, but Blizzard doesn’t want to do it.
It’s clear that Elune has a connection to the light because she created a Naaru but I really really really hope they wont homogenize all holy magic to be some form of the Light
The Light, lunar power and the power of some of the loa are all holy magics. We don’t know yet if this solar power even exists or if it’s just the light.
To be fair I don’t think it’s that straightforward anymore because the tweet I mentioned got deleted, so I’m not sure if it’s still canon (unless there is a different source). Although I personally believe that deleted content can still be considered canon, I think it highly depends on the type of source and tweets aren’t deleted accidentally.
That being said, there might be some wiggle room for it to be nature related, or even related to Arcane. I am not sure if it is confirmed she actually created a Naaru or is a Naaru herself (important characters such as Khadgar do strongly suggest that) or if she is a source of the Light.
