Do Zandalari Monks make sense?

It seems a bit odd. They aren’t about grace and control, and certainly not about the Pandaren ways, or so I thought.

Doesn’t this actually make sense lore wise?

Maybe they doesn’t had a great history with the Pandaren but it would make sense if they learned their techniques somehow like with very rare friendships.

Well it makes sense that the Panda Monks went there and help them train in the ways of the Monk.

Hell the Pandas helped the Scarlet Crusade of all factions.

Not Intentionally though
Brother Korloff might’ve learned from the pandaren travelling monks, but I doubt they shared the Scarlet’s views

Perhaps, it just seems rather odd.

Well they interacted with the Pandaren, it makes sense some of their fighting skills rubbed off.

I’m just glad we have them for gameplay purposes, getting that heritage armor would have sucked without the monk buff.

Most of the RP buds that play Zandalari Monks on my side go the way of the Brawler/Martial Fighter.

Some even going as far as fighting this way in the same manner as Kimbul. I quite like it myself.

They do make sense as special and single individuals (like pretty much any race/class combo, even undead paladin).

If you want to play a typical Zandalari however, Monk would be a horrible choice.

Bonus question; Out of interest what are people’s go-to class that springs to mind when you think zandalari?

BM Hunter with dino

Druid because of Wardruid Loti

Lightforged just cries in the corner.

Complete BS LF can’t be Monks urguwlkefjhqw[oq.

Yeah, MoP monks are highly centrised around harmony and balance and about practising Pandaren techniques. But there are many types of monks, and it makes more sense if you think of them as just warriors who use their hands instead of weapons.

I mean, you don’t see Sunwalkers bringing justice to the world (as they don’t care much about that concept), but Paladins have a lot of spells related with that. We should use our fantasy when applying such classes to races that don’t really seem to adhere to the classes’ tradition.

Prelate or Hunter imo.

True. Good thing Argus Invasions gave exp to low level characters back when I leveled them.

Honestly, I prefer creativity out of typicality. Whilst Prelate and Hunter, like Frozen and Haiete suggested are also my go-to, I like it when people get creative and know to remain in the boundaries of their lore, race and class.

I recently went with Restoration Druid for example in order to approach a Witch Doctor concept. It turned out well in roleplay with toys supplementing the ‘darker aspects’ and using the SoO transmog.

I’m really surprised nobody’s said Shaman. That would have been mine for sure

Honestly, pick a class and i’m sure you can make a believable concept out of it even for a ‘go-to’ scenario.

Unless the person criticizing you heavily for your class choice is paying your sub, then you’ve all right to flip them off if they don’t like your reasonable explanation.

Oh I’m not looking for advice. I’m just curious to see people’s views.

They had Jaguar warriors on Isle of Thunder that would kinda fit that category.
Also Kimbul’s teachings kinds resemble the monk teachings imo.

If I’d make Zandalari monk I’d make out of him Jaguar warrior.
