Probably bots or scalpers looking to artificially lower the price, then buy everything and resell at your original price or even higher.
But they won’t grow fat……pixels dont buy red wine and chocolate
When was the last time you saw a shark eating chocolate?
Just because you didnt see them, doesnt mean they dont eat it !
Aren’t Ah sharks of the two-legged variety?
They eat it all the time .
Have you seen some of these gold makers? They sit & repost their auctions every few minutes from 7am through to midnight everyday, probably even on Christmas Day.
Why compete with that? I’d rather drop the price for a quick sale.
And the gold makers thank you for your protecting their investments.
That’s simply untrue. Sharks hate chocolate. They absolutely loathe anything sweet and sugary actually, as probably proved by research conducted by T.M Basset, Head of Oceonography at Florida University, who probably exists.
True. AH is for earning a G or two more than the vendor price - for emptying your bags to get on with the game.
I know the AH is a game for some, and that they like to reach max number of G - let’s just be happy to help them - and ourselves and now and then even a happy buyer who’s not a
welcome to the world of AH bots and “i play 1 hour per week so i don’t have time to farm gold for some gems, REEE”.
What bugs me to this day is ppl undercutting so much that they’d be better selling the item to a vendor.
In pyrewood vilage, if you buy forest emerald from AH and cut a random gem then vendor it you make profit. That’s all I’m gonna say
Good for you and for the seller who’s not a JC
My old guild master used to do this, I always bought his auctions and reposted, sometimes he even bought his own auctions back from me once he realized he needed the stuff xD
Of course it works like in real life. Economics are real. Good that you have come to realize that.
Those are my favourite kinds. Back on my old server, in Classic era there was a regular guy who would absolutely flood the AH with stacks Rugged Leather selling at around 10s less than the vendor value, he’d have literally made more by just vendoring it.
I took great delight in regularly clearing him out and re-selling it at a massive mark-up. It pretty much ended up paying for my epic mount.
2 reasons.
-
They’re hoping for a quick sell.
-
They’re hoping some numpty isn’t paying attention to the prices and are just throwing everything up via auctionator, so the add-on automatically undercuts them and they get to buy your auctions for 30% cheaper, then sell them on.
I’ve made 15 000 g in latter part of tbc buying netherweave cloth under 3g a stack and crafting it into heavy bandages to vendor. Just bought many hundreds of stacks per day and stood there crafting while working in alt tab. Freelance home office is like cheating at life.
spot on. This is also how all financial markets work. and should work. If you think something is too cheap, buy it (or “go long”) and make a profit. If you think it is too expensive, sell it (“go short”) and make a profit.
thats nonsense. see comment above, more opportunities to go long
the issue in WoW is depth of market, i.e. not enough people doing this so non-clearing prices may linger on
