I swear ahead of the curve used to be at least somewhat of an achievement most casual raiders aimed for.
But this tier I feel like it’s glossed over and the hardcore guilds are just skipping HC jailer to go straight into mythic.
Trying to form a group in pug yields no results where barely 1 player queues up every 2-3 minutes if you’re lucky and of course they are ilvl 259 3/11 hc and 9/11 normal.
Is it due to the boss not dropping any good loot ( Since all the tier sets are on prior bosses )? Or has there been such a massive player drop since 9.0 release that all that’s left are hardcore mythic raiders?
Frankly, other than the two handed hammer melees salivate over the Jailer has no notable loot.
In comparison to that you go and kill two mythic bosses, which gives you a vault option that can give you a tier piece as well.
We are also at the point where most players want tier pieces, since they are a notable damage increase. Because of this reason those bosses who drop tier pieces are more in demand.
I would say there is a chance there will be higher demand for the Jailer once more players have tier sets, and once the vault helped bloat the ilvl of people to the levels where they can just faceroll the Jailer fight.
Exactly like previous tiers people doing early mythic to go back to kill last boss this all started way back in WoD when curve and CE really came into there own .
People tend to forget its still ONLY week 5 of a new patch they like to hyperbole and see problems that do no exist.
Mythic+ is way more efficient to get gear in so yeah. Also Zereth cypher gear made raids even more absolote. You can literaly skip 3 difficulty levels of raids with this. Game have completly broken reward strucutre. There is way too many stuff competing for player attentionand raids are lossing.
I went with a more casual approach this tier. My aim is always to get AotC. As it’s only a two day raiding guild, and we had to try and get everyone tier, we’ve probably spent more time in normal than we would have normally.
I’m looking forward to progressing the rest of heroic and dabbling with some mythic bosses.
Do guilds actually skip Hc Jailer all together and never kill it? Or do they just do it once to clock it off?
My end goal every patch is keystonemaster & heroic curve
that being said, we are so god damn early that i rather wait until i atleast got 3 different slots 278 before i attempt heroic raid, since im planning on pugging it
I haven’t cared about raiding since TBC, it was eventually Wotlk raiding that killed it all for me.
I barely even know what the purpose of Ahead of the Curve is, except occasionally you get a mount for doing it. On this tier there’s a mount, the mount is ugly, I’m not putting any effort into getting it.
Doesn’t even have to be hardcore guilds… most are skipping Jailer.
He doesn’t have any good loot, so not worth doing, why waste time on him for mediocre loot?
Will probably be ran through on normal/heroic once players are mythic geared.
How to fix this? Give him a universal tier token.
Oh wait… the creation catalyst is here already, so probably won’t be worth anything in like 2 weeks.
i cared when i used to raid,i have all curves untill shadowlands season 1 where i stopped mythic raiding (has a tank) and m+,now i only do world content and rated pvp with dps spec.
killing npcs got boring.now i only care about killing other players.
We’ve skipped HC jailer for the first few weeks and killed him at the 31st, because we still had time left over after killing Prototype Mythic and didn’t want to only progress Lihuvim for 30minutes - 1 hour.
We’ve also killed him this week, but to be honest, our time would’ve been better spent progressing Mythic.
The final boss is incredibly unattractive this content. In CN, we’ve had weapon tokens and trinkets, in SOD, we’ve had very strong weapons and a trinket so insane it’s still BiS for some classes. Now we have a singular weapon and a trinket that’s alright-ish.
From a gear pov, there’s just very little reason to spend time fighting the jailer.
Which is 272ilvl… the special might be powerful, but i doubt it compares with a 278ilvl weapon from early mythic bosses (or vault if you got lucky like i did), which are probably easier to kill than heroic Jailer and it’s better to just progress mythic tbh.
I don’t wanna have anything to do with that pointless villan I want to distance myself as much as possible and not having an achievement to show
Jokes aside, I always aimed for curve with at least one of my chars. This is the first tier, for reason unknown, that I really don’t care.
Could be my guild don’t have room in the mythic roster and nobody helps the HC raid ending up with either one healer, or one tank, or not enough high dps. But that’s not the point.
I started hating raiding last season, with shard of domination. If you didn’t have them then you couldn’t perform good in M+ and raids. Same this season with tier sets. I’m feeling left out by not having them, or overwhelmed at the idea of farming them with my alts (since my main is already 0/4)
For the first time since Vanilla that I’ve lost the willingness to raid. I’m getting old and cranky
