Normally just one horde character and one alliance so I can experience the story from both ends, not that matters as much anymore.

Focus on my main.
When she’s done, I might gear an alt, if I feel like it. But I usually don’t feel like it; because I consider it worthless; because I want to do stuff on my main.
For me the whole Warband system is pretty much worthless.
The vast majority of my alts are hunters. I don’t care about collecting transmog I won’t be able to use on my hunters.
And as for reputations and all that; I refer back to the beginning of this post: I focus on my main.
