At least for pvp, again (pve is fine ofc, even better as alliance in fact). Alliance does have some anti rogue stuff (perception and stonform), but you can play around them.
There’s literally nothing you can do about 1/3 of your opponents resisting your cheap shot and kidney shot, there’s nothing you can do against shadowguard, devouring plague, and ele shamans one shotting you with their spells or flame shocking you to prevent a restalth, or using poison totem before you blind to auto dispell it.
Not to mention everyone’s going human for weapon skill (no choice), when horde rogues can either go orc, wich is absolutely busted for rogues (stun resist) or undead, which is very good too.
If you want to pvp, just dont be alliance as a rogue, seriously. I just rerolled, like two other rogue friends did, it’s just way too much of a pain in the azz.
This is kinda sad to read, and yet this is basically why we’re having a balance issue on literally all pvp servers right now: people go horde to avoid stun resist and wotf, and to benefit from it, or to avoid shamans when they play casters, because of grounding totem, earth shock, frost shock, flame shock (for stealthies), poison totem (hunters, rogues, and so on), etc…
racials were the biggest mistake ever: if Blizzard removed them and just let people pick their favorite races (visually speaking), the scene would be VERY different.
People would roll alliance for locks in a second (especially since they counter ele shamans hard with curse of tongues), rogues wouldn’t be scared of going alliance (no stun resist, which is the biggest counter in the game for rogues), and so on
Orcs are cool, but saying “DON’T GO ALLIANCE” is kinda stupid.
Even if they miss the opener, on average you’re still at a disadvantage if a human gets you first. You’ll sometimes resist 3 stuns in a row, you’ll sometimes die in two.
As a dwarf, often being able to Blind or getting a clean Vanish is all I need to turn the tables.
Just go for fun. If Horde’s fun for you, then sure, go Horde. But give trolls some love too. Just stay away from da voodoo.
Devouring plague sucks against any classes with a disease removal. And against the entire Dwarf race. The mana cost is insane, and it’s easily removed.
You do realize that dwarf/gnome are much better for pvp, racials wise, than human right? Also thers a lot of stuff that horde can complain about aliance, in 1v1 u can win basicly against every1(yes mages are hard but possible, same goes for priests and shamans) and in organised pvp… Does it realy matter?
lots and lots of people pick their favorite race and don’t care about racials including me. so its not a problem. on the contrary i think that adds to immersion if you compare it with the stupid balance that they have tried to achieve in BFA and made the game boring.
i was always choosing race and class by what i feel that i like to play and see every time i log on. not by what is better in small numbers. Look and feel is more important to me.
if you feel that you are a rogue troll then you are a rogue troll. you will never be happy with orc rogue or an undead rogue even though they are “better” by a small detail that in real life might mean nothing if you don’t know how to play for example.
It is so weird that the vanilla racials did not raise enough eyebrows back in the days to get them fixed during the years before BC expansion came out.
Thank god for instance that weapon speed normalization was implemented so we don’t have to deal with it today.
I dont agree with you.
Racials are not mistake, it makes the races unique. The only problem is the balance between them… and by that I dont mean making every race equaly good at everyting, but making each race uniquely good at something.
With that said. There Is no reason why shouldnt Alliance Rogue kill any Horde player in 1v1. It all depends on multiple conditions like position or skill of the players or gear…
The , horde is better for rogues , argument only applies to the highest top tier of players which 99% of playerbase isnt.
I would argue the biggest mistake was them trying to balance all classes for them to all work in arena. Which turned them all homogeneous. The focus on class fantasy regardless of balance is much more RPG like.
Racials were and are an excellent idea. It gives the choice of race a little extra meaning. Allows you to differentiate, it’s almost like DnD where your choice of race impacts things. Can you go min/max sure? Do you have to in order to have a good time? No.
Remember not everyone wants to be “competitive” and min/max everything.
Unfortunately it affects you more in this than it does in DnD because DnD isn’t really a PvP game. Even in DnD racials define some classes in a big way if your party member is a barbarian there is a very large chance he’s also a half orc.
The only real issue with racials in this is that Alliance racials for pvp are straight up crap on two races and unfortunately it happens to be the races that are the most common choices in RPGs (humans and elves) so it’s kind of hard to not be salty when you’re gimped just for picking the race you wanted.
Have not seen any racial give some huge advantage as of yet, they all die the same.
Well I guess it is not bad news that we will have 3 Rogues less on our side, so it is all good.
Imagine saying that BFA is bad because your race is not superior to another race. (Though it still is the case in retail.) “Class? Skill? Nah, don’t you dare being better than your opponent while at the same time looking better than them.” True *pe shill mentality.
Basically why i had to ditch my 50 rogue weeks ago and start again as a different class (Druid) was hard enough getting groups for things as a rogue anyway as it always is but with the new “Spellcleave” BS around made it even harder and yes the pvp racials are terrible as well but you should know that already.
