Dracthyr odd body design

Okay I’m trying very hard to like the Dracthyr but their bodies are just too weirdly shaped. I mainly play healers and have been wanting a new healer class for years but I’m tired of playing races I dont want to play, and this Dracthyr is a race I don’t want to play.

It’s a bad move locking an entire class behind such a bizzare looking race, I don’t see them being played much due to it. It worked with the demon hunter because they were nelfs and belfs the coolest races in the game to a lot of people, hence why the bloodelves are played almost more than all other races put together. I’ve mained mw monk since MoP, but would never ever of touched it had the monk class been locked to the panda race only. I hate the pandaren race.

Just look at this Bellular video comments, EVERY single comment is negative about the Dracthyr body shape. All the comments with dozens or hundreds of likes are all negative towards the body shape. Even Bellular isn’t happy with it.

Also apparently with the 3 different body types you can choose from at the moment they don’t look much different from each other. The bulkier version is just a tiny bit bigger than the lanky version we’ve already seen and it looks practically the same. Can’t we have a male/female/ and this lanky form if you really want us to have it as well, as the 3 body type choices.

Please don’t use the excuse they’re lizards and lizards don’t have female or male body types (googled it apparently they do have subtle differences). Because nor do wolves (worgen), foxes (vulerpa) tauren (cows). There isn’t a difference in body type with betwen male and female wolves or foxes besides 8 nipples, but yet they gave them humanoid male and female forms ingame. Why can’t they do the same for this Dracthyr race.

I’m annoyed at the guy who drew this because it shows we could of had the coolest race I’ve ever seen added to WoW or any MMO had they of been designed like how this guy drew it. It could have bought people to the game but this lanky version definitely won’t. But instead we have these skinny lanky childrens entertainer type costume dragons only. I would happily change my main or any class I played to what this guy drew, but I don’t want to touch this lanky dragon blizz gave us, but I want a new healer so badly. Why lock a whole class to such a weird awful looking race? I swear I don’t play my class properly when I play a race I don’t want to play.

These Dracthyr remind me of this skinny small dragon from Mulan but with wings.

The Dracthyr don’t look right, their proportions look off. It’s weird because I’ve never thought this about any other race in WoW. Even the races I don’t like, such as the Panderan, Mechagnome and Kul tiran. These other races I don’t like but all look in proportion to what they’re supposed to be, body shape, lore wise and all.

Whereas the Drathyr really don’t scream “superior warrior race” that ‘Neltharion’ the coolest looking dragon made. Their head and neck look too small to the rest of the body. It looks like what you’d draw as a kid thinking you drew a monster or demon that looks cool and fierce and then you go back to it hours later with fresh eyes and see the head and neck are too small and the body isn’t the fierce muscley body you thought it was but scrawny and out of proportion to the rest of it.

Please make them have a more muscular or feminine body desgin to choose from like this guy drew. And I would be so happy to play that as a main forever. I would pay to change my other classes to it if they could be that cool muscular dragon.

They look terrible. Like from a cheap Chinese game.

This is no laughing matter! You stick a pair of tiny wings on the back of Mushu and put it next to a picture of a Dracthyr and you wouldn’t be able to see the difference.

Ngtl, those two Uber-draco models do look good.

Their models could definitely use some work imo, hopefully Blizzard will adress this with sliders or body options like the Forsaken have or something. But at the same time, not everyone has to like them and that’s fine too. If this is really their vision you either take it or leave it.

That means nothing considering his whole channel is just an echo chamber of hateful addicts refusing to let go.

Going to guess that the way Dracthyr is designed is that it’s a “player” model, using “armor-pieces” for torso/legs that looks like lizard skin.

yes the head is larger and the torso is longer on males.

What you seem to forget is that this is how blizzard have represented dragons forever.

Tauren is Minotaurs aka a cursed human ox hybrid.
Worgen are werewolf aka human that is cursed.
Vulpera is fox humanoids. Not sure where that is from.
The Dracthyr is however in their natural state when being a dragon and in their odd state when being the humanoid form.

Basically what i am saying is that the examples you have given are Humanoid first then a fantasy element of a creature on top while the Dracthyr is dragons first with a humanoid element on top.

Now i get where you are coming from but what they are doing is consistent with how they have done dragons forever.

Furry/Scalie dragons from Second Life.

Not really, they have had male and female dragon races in WoW like this dragonspawn caster. Here is a female dragonspawn. It’s even called “charscale invoker”.

Both the same then, they just are the way they are. They’re a human hybrid too, they have human forms they switch back and forth from. Plus talking about tauren and worgen what you said doesn’t add up to why they gave them male and female forms.

Fine Pandaren pandas, were they human once or cursed too? Also I did say vulpera which goes against your “humanoid first” theory.

There really is no reason to not give them male and female forms like all the other animal races they have given us. The reason they gave us is just ridiculous, and blatent laziness really. They have to get this race right since an entire class is restricted to it.

I explained it 2 different ways and it was still not understood.

Those are dragonkin not dragons.
Alextraza, Wrathion and those are dragons.
Dragonkin was almost made hunter pets at one point but to be fair worgen was hunter pets in wrath.

Chen stormstout was created for WC3 as an april fools joke (yes that is it literally) so they already had a male model as early as then.

There is no reason to give them male or female form either.
It also means they do not need clothes on the male or female form to keep the listed aged allowed to play the game that is +12.

The question is would you be ok with getting clothes on the models that you can not ever change?
Because that is likely the path they would take if they follow your suggestion.

So you’d be fine if we remove female belf since there’s no need to have both genders?

Congratulations you just missing the point by a lot.
Dragons have in wow been naturally not gendered in that way as Dragon forms while in human forms have been gendered.

Take Alextraza as an example of a Dragon while in humanoid form she is a high elf while being a dragon she does not look different then Kalecgos in a dragon form. (in the aspects people are talking about here)

I very much didn’t. The reason to have a female dragon model would be simply because people want to play a female character. That’s the only reason you need.

Dragons haven’t, but these aren’t dragons. They’re draconic.

Same as the Dragonspawn, there’s male and female models.

since this is not just a npc new race but a player new race, both genders should be playable and noticably different.

These are the literal basics.

You are showing right here that you did.
Let me try again when in humanoid form you will have your female character while in dragon form it will also be a female character just not boobs.

And they ARE even in the dragon form they are.
The difference is not in having boobs when in dragon form like you want that is the thing.
They still exist when in humanoid form.

The question is do you think we are going to see armour show up on the dragon form or not?
