Hey, to the people planning to play as a dracthyr, did you already plan your characters concept. Or even the concept of a dracthyr themed guild or even a weyrn?
How do you decide for a name, do you go with dragon naming conventions or scale colour or even something different?
My Dracthyr will be primary white coloured with bronze coloured markings, horns and claws he will be part of the “Healing Wings” before he joins later on another guild/weyrn.
Therefore he will stay at the Dragonisles (for as long as needed or possible for rp).
I have not decided for a final name yet but I have some ideas.
And he won’t be an evoker he will just be a healer.
And also lets stay nice and optimistic… no one wants to see that you got abused as a child by beeing toxic.
I made a discord for exchange and inspiration: h ttps://discord.gg/GUbuqKWBtJ

Personally I went with picking the name based on conventions of the respective flight they belong to.
Conceptwise, they’re likely going to stay somewhat scholarly and exploration-prone, as that’s the kinda RP I enjoy and it fits what we know of the race.
Bit early to go into further details about it for me, but that’s the gist of it.
i already had a concept (and imma prob change it when game goes live. NO SPOILERS!!) and my dracthyr would be like this (described in a few emojies)

Mine will be a member of the Healing Wings who finds more kinship in the ideals of defending nature + life. She’ll find a lot in common with the Red and Green dragonflights.
Whilst she is keen to aid the Tauren and Night Elves, I expect a lot of her work to keep her in the Isles.
Her base colour is green, with patches of cream-coloured scales. Meanwhile, her armaments will have bronze accents.
My own Dracthyr will be a kind but power-hungry member of the Obsidian Warders. A valiant defender who prefers to take wing in a fight to strike their foes from above.
They are the spitting image of a chromatic drake (pink and blue scales, yellow horns) and after learning of the power of Nefarian’s experiments will have an obsession with becoming an Evoker to better defend Azeroth.
That said they’ll probably mostly make use of Devastation spells (Blue and Red) as the magic of the other flights eludes them for now.
Edit: Here’s my draconic dummy in all their glory.

Struggling to pick between a black flight aligned(and colour coded) “warrior” type whod be very much for exploring/learning about the rest of the world, and a green flight aligned(and colour coded) type more into healing and druid/nelf type areas/themes, neither would be a fully fledged evokar I think.

I was bouncing between two themes for my Dracthyr when they were first announced but eventually settled on one concept.
Mine is going to be a Blue, trying to make them look like the new updated darker Blue dragons with the slightly curved horns, white belly/wings and clubed tail as is the traditional theme for dragon tails.
With him being a blue I’ve gone for a traditional Blue sounding name as I have always liked the Draconic naming conventions. Even if they’re not of the flights I think I saw on wow reddit there was a purple one with Strasz at the end of their name so it might be uncommon but not impossible.
As for Weyrn I decided to go with the Ebon Scales but has remained loyal to the dragons, gives more of an option to go from Horde to Alliance if I ever faction change.
I am unsure whether to make him an Evoker though or someone who nears the potential of one…If they announce Dracthyr getting other classes in a near patch (which I doubt but fingers crossed) I’d likely change him entierly to a Mage.
This is all assuming I will ever RP on my Dracthyr, but I did give it some thought.
She will basically be a Pandaren. Well no, that’s doing both races a disservice to say, but she will be completely awestruck when the Horde and Alliance expedition arrives and she learns of how much the world is changed. Duty will likely bind her to remain for a time, at least until the Primalist threat is dealt with… but…
Dragon Isles, Dragon Schmisles, she’ll want to be off for adventure and learning so, so much from both unfamiliar history and magic. Sure there are mortals to deal with and sure she will have to learn to behave around them… but honestly, what matters most are their libraries and trinkets.
Think blue dragon with none of the reclusive reservations.
Not sure on her looks just yet, but I’ve kept a folder of the ones I found most visually interesting while browsing about. So far I’m leaning towards something like

My dracthyr gonna be quite a hoarder, some one that really wants to get hands on riches, now the world is free to explore for him, hes gonna seek out adventures of his own and all that kind of things were he can get hands on treasures and trinkets, Hes consider to be a greedy fella most likely becomes a good friends with goblins or like-minded people who are treasure hunters.
Something i have just as a concept for now may change much later on.

Gotta say I LOVE the design here!
She looks almost like a gargoyle being animated to attack those below her!
A+ and one of the best looking Dracs using the more pale look I’ve seen so far.
We’ll see when the game releases, but this is my visual concept so far:
Haven’t decided on a concept yet, and at this point I don’t even know if my dracthyr will even be used IC, or if it’ll just be used for PvE. Maybe a fighter type who revels in combat and danger, or a greedy hoarder.

Thought I’d best show my own one off as well
As I said I wanted a more traditional looking Blue Dragon look.
Probably won’t use it too much but I tried to make a visage look as well, going for as much of a Mage look as mail armour seems to allow for.

The self-styled true heir of Neltharion, who believes that the black dragonflight failed in their duty and that it is the dracthyr who will carry on Neltharion’s true will. The black dragonflight were his blood children, but the dracthyr were the children he chose.
…at least so they think.
That’s a decent concept for a guild really!
How would it be styled? Antagonistically or more of the noble goal that was originally envisioned?
As a concept it could really go either way quite easily.
Mine will look like this, but I can’t decide between bronze or silver coloured armor:
bronze:

Bronze does accentuate the scale stripes nicely, but that’s just my two cents!
