It wasnt. DF sales are poor. And major issues with game were not adressed at all.
What is needed is not more cosmetic stuff and even more pve content thats mandatory, but a new combat system(the strength of wow over many other mmos), that allows us to do constant high dmg and is less cd based for dmg, like in the old days or right now in classic wrath, this alone, together with a more refined fresh class design bringing back some of the old def and utility cds, because thats where cds are actually fun if used as utility and defensively.
Or in short, the Legion content cycle is great, but we need MoP class design and WoD combat.
And a way better pvp system at the entry level, i can easily imagine how hard its gonna be for new players trying to get into wow pvp. Maybe put more incentive and rewards into normal and epic bgs and rework RBGs that really need major dev love, add solo que to RBGs, too, that braket takes way to long to be organized in any meaningful way.
Old content could be made relevant again and warmode could have faction pvp designs of BfA back with faction assaults and in general zones under attack to simulate war.(world of warcraft, right)
Currently the game feels more like world of craft, its good to see profession updates, but where is the war in this game?
BfA is a testament, how this could be done much better, the whole zone should be a warzone.(Faction Assaults + Nazjatar)
MoP, still had the best class design, class designers shouldn’t stop working on class design, yet.

Every exp had releases sales second week after release. This is first time they refused to make those numbers public and instead went full.on promo to sell more df copies which never happed this early into expansion.

Is that so? Obviously you missed Shadowlands. I have enough of peace and love forced down my character’s double agent throat. SL warmode was dead from start to finish and its lore wasn’t about faction wars at all, but some space Deathrobot and its servants. No one cared about that story, either. 
Its called “World of WARcraft” - And Shadowlands allready removed the WAR aspect of the game, in warmode as well as the lore itself.
This can never be done to death, faction wars are the essence of warcraft and removing it, is a very big mistake, senior wow designers of the past did knew that.
Crossfaction for hard content is ok for QoL, but removing faction conflict from the narrative is very wrong.
I swear, people on horde will soon regret, that Garrosh is no longer here for them to push their faction in the right direction!
Alliance at least have Turalyon back as their leader a very expierenced faction war leader of the RTS games.
I am surprised he does not want to purge all of the horde, yet.

Is it a dungeon with Torgast type event rng in it or something? I hope so. Torgast was done badly because of the grind but all that effort that went into Torgast’s randomness could add much need variety to other parts of the game.
