As I said, if the goal is to make random bg… the horse feels good… two horses… 12.6 seconds maximum speed… bubble… full cd and trinket… yeah! you can massacre, I understand you.
Now ya… when we want to do more content than a random bg, the horse feels horrible. Lots of meaningless speed with a very long cooldown, that’s why we want back talents like speed of light or long arm of the law, Small buffs of more constant speed that we can throw away at key moments.
About the utility… I doubt it will be considered, we have a great example of offensive support like the paladin of lost ark… he hits a lot, less than a dps but he helps the party, so it’s very important to carry one if possible and it feels great to go hitting and throw party support.
No it does not. Speed buffs in general are as plain and boring they can get if thats all they give. If i have to use any speedbuff + freedom to get anywhere its a failed skill imo. And the same would go for Laotl and SoL.
What i dont want is any nerf to the mobility we have now. Steed replaced with Laotl or SoL is an outright nerf, same with current plan DF tree. Key word here is “replaced”, if they are added its a bonus but i would much rather have a gapcloser as they are far more fun to use.
The diffrence here is the pony is in your controll… the guardian isent. And the pony is only a cosmetic difference at most VS Laotl but more effective, maybe a tauren cant fit throu a door, but they arent paladins to begin with so /care
I think the right thing to do is to give a choice as with regret or blinding light.
But with the pony or the speed of light, seen in another way, if we want to make pve content we can choose between one or the other without having to remove anything and have the community with enough tools.
They came well before the cursed skill, I seem to remember that they are since cataclysm
Tbh i misspoke there, was meaning to say better then SoL. But there are instances when the pony is actually better then even laofl. If a warrior leaps away to escape you wont be gettng near him with Laotl and hes gone. A mage that blinks away then casts poly you barely get close enough even with Pony to stop him.
Its burst speed VS sustained speed, both matters little when slowed or rooted tho.

Without looking at numbers, the immunity to forced movement and knockbacks would make speed great again even if you don’t add movement effects hahha.
So 2 of the 3 things you mentioned here wont be solved with LaotL nor SoL and the 3rd is a cosmetic issue.
Btw when having a speedbuff in your rotation, does that not counter its use? Say judgment was still a 6 sec CD and the buff lasted 3 sec like in the past, if its on CD at a time you HAVE to move you can do nothing but normaly walk out. Sometimes the area of effect rather large and a 3 sec 45% buff wont get you into the clear either. In cases like these Steed is indeed better aswell.
This im sure ive seen in other expansion Alpha/beta description for Freedom more then once, they never implemented that part.
Googled this part… You are talking about falling sword from what i get, yes they tried making it a thing in Legion alpha and never got it working, nor does it seem like they tried making it work other then 1 itteration of it in alpha before scrappng it.
I would be very happy with having Falling sword + steed in its current form. Wouldnt care if Steed turned into SoL but kept its 100% speed, would take issue if it was back to 70% however.
the truth is that if steed, although I hate it a lot, with a combination like this with another skill like falling sword, steed would not be so hated, if they included the option of sun with 100% I would applaud enormously.
But not everything will be complaints, I maintain that the class has received little pampering, that the holy warrior fantasy has been replaced with the d3 crusader, but what the hell! we will have cr in dragonflight! The pve mobility will still be poor but it’s great that they bring us such a great utility!!!
Not to rain on your parade, but it’s not confirmed yet. They are considering giving Paladins combat ress. The quote from Ion was specifically “Possible Paladins, likely Paladins, but don’t like… 100% quote me on that”. Meaning it could still go to someone else.
All right, I read it at first in wowhead, then in icyveins this morning I have already checked that the cr for the paladins was not mentioned.

Still 4 points on steed, 3 points to many if it must still be around. Should be a basic skill and 5 (6+ prefferably) sec normally. Only point on the tree should be for a second charge.
Is it just me that feels retribution aura still sucks, and from an actual practical stand point unusable, since devo is better for the group, pvp not withstanding there.
And do any of us actually like the horse? Cause I hate it in every way

… and Indeed, i wrote multiple time across forums that paladins NEEDS a raid utility. It is necessity, generaly rets are mostly benched because anything rets can do, other class can do too and on much better scale.
So after long run of ret mains telling blizzard about THE MAIN ISSUES what we need to make this spec playable … we ended up with battle ress … what a f***n rip off. Again they proved that they dont wanna make us competetive meele class. GG
Oh but we can heal and tank, and we wear plate, we ride into battle upon our steed and then immediately dismount to fight on foot, we provide auras to out team so they can take less and can charge fast on their mounts, we are able to bubble and throw hammers what else do we need?
Sarcasm aside I personally don’t know how I would improve ret with the current version of the game, a great deal of our utility was removed like a decade ago when they removed buffs from the game (but only from 2? classes) soo other than make the auras more relevant or allow us to gain additional benefits from our auras I dunno how I would fix it, I personally would advocate merging Ret and Devo together and only allow it to seraphim and remove the avenging wrath part of ret, it easier to play around with only that.
I agree and I’m completing my own set of feedback regarding the class after playing some on PTR. Now I don’t know weather to post it or not 'cause its gonna be same topic as dozen others here (which are completely valid!)
