Dragonflight Paladin Trees

Im so sad, blizzard doesnt say anything doesnt do anything. Paladin needs changes theres tons of feedback over the forums, EU and US.

The last couple of changes on paladins have been mainly tuning and little else so it seems they are done with paladin changes for DF. No feedback has been heard or acknowledged by Blizz what so ever. The silence from their side is frustrating to say the least, i expected it but the communication they gave to other classes gave me hope as i thought the silence be for everyone. To me atleast it confirms that they just despise this class for some reason.

The only solution is to allow people to change classes available to there race and then people will stop playing paladins and blizzard will be happy and we will be happy… Or us paladins stop playing the game and we win and they lose… Ive hold off buying Dragon Flight and also stopped my sub, its not fair that I paying for a game of where I lose because I play said class… Because they don`t like the class and they massively UP, people reject us from practicaly everything and therefor forcing us to re-roll losing our progress and enjoyment over the classes or play another game…

TDLR - Let us class swap suited to our races, its been asked on many posts, let us do what they do in other MMORPGS… Or fix the class or even delete the class and our characters and force us to play other games… Its as simple as that…

Both on US and EU development threads there’s a lot of feedback concerning changes and current class status but little response to them

Im trying to like everything i read about paladin, because it is noticable that we all have same ideas and concerns about paladin design: they definitively need a rework. I hope that if we speak as one unite voice they will listen us in the future

I think the reason why Blizzard communicates very little with Paladin players is because there is a total dissonance between what the players wants Paladins to be and what Blizzard wants Paladins to be.
After all, everytime they say something it just makes people angry. So why say anything at all?

Might be, but you cant deny there is a totaly different treatment when it comes to paladins. They are not talking at all what direction they want us to go, they gave some vague non answer as to why they removed LaotL.

Most other classes have a mobility talent as baseline and can get more or improve on it with talents. We have none and gets to spend 5 points on 1 to get less the what we have today. We get basically nothing new in DF, most of what we get are nerfed versions of borrowed power since legion.

Ill compare once again with mage on their basic tree. They get tools from all speccs there, its a true hybrid tree. Thats not something paladins can have because our toolset are so barren to begin with. For ret in that tree, the only spell that we couldnt get before is spellwarding. What spell couldnt Prot and holy get before? I dont play them but all i see is the borrowed power The Mad Paragon… wait was that legendary even ret exclusive?

One of the problems with dev communication is the lack of admitting player feedback. Dev just types in info of stuff that changed and that’s that, take it for granted. There’s little to none discussions between dev and the players even after huge pile of player feedback regarding all specs.

I do understand that dev wants to force his vision of class upon players (like removing HP generation from Avenger’s Shield). Hence, it’s their game and they can do whatever they want but why not listen to majority of players about most crucial issues?

Sometimes I wonder if the dev actually reads these threads. There’s so little time left. I fear that when the pre-patch goes live it’s gonna be the end for any substantial changes in class. Looking at how often we get any changes at all, I think we may see very few updates ahead of us.

But their reasoning for nerfing AS is to promote another skill wasent it? The clear answer was then to buff that other skill not nerf an unrelated skill no? Then the holy sheild change aswell, i dont play prot but from the outside looked like a clear nerf.

So we have a plated class that in general as less base mitigation then any other class, less skills to mitigate dmg then any other class, less health then several other classes and less passive selfhealing then ALL other classes.

In their post when removing LaotL they mentioned that low CD mobility should not be one of our strengths but the question then becomes what is?

Because ive never known what the strength of a paladin is (talking as ret here). The small speedboost CDs only lasted for 2 out of 8 expansions, soon to be 9. So in my eyes we were always the “wheelchair specc”, as while we had those rogues had burst of speed… a NO CD 100% speed boost that only cost energy.

The reason Steed alone has so many points in the general tree is because they have nothing to fill in the already barren tree. They said in 2 expanions in row they were very happy with where Paladins were at. So the plan from the start was to change as little as possible with the added salt of nerf everything aswell!

One bet is that set bonuses will bring the nerfs up to their prenerf status, that would fall very much in line with their handling of paladins.

Set bonuses are a poor excuse for for sloppy class design, now I’m not saying it is sloppy,

But who wants to bet that warlock will be over tuned yet again true it only has one role to fill but it is a bit ridiculous that it’s been soo massively powerful for so long.

It just feel as many have said blizzard don’t like paladin, and honestly it’s hard to disagree, if it truly is the case I wish they would tell us and then simply rework the class.

I get that it’s not done yet and I only played a little of the ptr, but there was the nagging feeling that it was still kinda missing something and it wasn’t tuning, dunno what it is but yeah.

P.S Most of my opinion is based around Ret I won’t be playing the other specs til DF not wasting time learning then relearning but if they don’t like ret they should just get rid of it.

time mark is when he starting talking about paladins - ret especially

yes my raid leader just told me:
no utility, no raid benefits, no big raid CD, nothing … reroll or accept the bench …

@blizzard
DO SOMETHING WITH THE SPEC OH MY GOD WHAT ELSE U FU**N WANT ?!

I think alot of people.are expectinf this problem to arise. Theyve now given so many classes a unique utility point theres sooooo few spaces for non vital classes and speccs.

I lack understanding to how blizzard think handing rogues a group CDR reduction and paladins a CR is remotely in the same power level. Espically when CR is now providable by sooo many options including tank and healer roles

Yeah, he did a great deal of work so kudos for him. I don’t get it why so few people submit any feedback there though. I thought the thread would have a huge pile of replies but nope.

Sadly i cant post or replay on that thread, maybe bcause i havent access to df beta

Yea, maybe

To me it seems as that the largest portion of invited testers are from NA. If you check the forums over there, they have a lot of people giving feedback.

Personally, I feel like I am speaking into a void, although I am not alone in this. The designers have been proven to be spiteful again and again over the years. If I had to guess, they have like 2 people working on class design, or maybe 1 by now, and they only play Hunters and Warriors. I mean, the only reason why Holy Shield was changed was because they added Spell Blocking to Warriors recently… Meaning that the only reason Prot Paladin was given any attention was because of Warriors, while they go ahead and ignore the feedback of actual Paladin players.

I’ve gotten used to the situation. They’ve been doing this for a lot of years now. Talentless fools who think they’re rockstars because they’re riding on past success. Only reason I’ve sat down in front of my PC and typed out a full on re-design was to prove that just by playing your own game, you can make a good game. I’ve done the exact same thing for Shadowlands. Sure, it should be playtested, but no one can prove that my design doesn’t line up with Paladin design and gameplay philosophy.

Edit: Funny stuff. I’ve opened the beta paladin forum again to check if there were any new replies, and I got a notification that I was contributing more than 35% of the replies, and that the thread clearly means a lot to me, and it was asking me if I was sure I was letting other people communicate.

Damn.

This is not good. Not good at all  I was afraid of this. Meaning that there’s a small bunch of designers working on stuff and that maybe they don’t care too much. Honestly at this point I’ll just wait and see what’s gonna happen and low my bar of expectations. Low it really low.

Just because Blizzard doesn’t care doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. We pay 13 euros a month for a reason. I keep paying that money even though my country’s currency is inflating to the Shadow Realm. Because I love this game and I want to see it do better.

It is the reality of any creative industry that you will eventually run out of sauce and need to refuel. The big failing of the games industry is that people are not given the time to rest and recharge. Given that Blizzard is US based, they don’t have severance pay, you gotta hop from one job to the next, and generally most people aren’t flexible enough to be specialized in more than one industry. Another big failure is that a lot of developers and designers treat players as enemies and not as people on equal footing. Ultimately, a designer’s ideas are either good or bad, and a lot of talentless people hide behind the shield of “well I think it’s fun” or “well we’ll have to see what the players think” or “it makes money anyways”. And I say either good or bad, because the only memorable games are the extremely good ones or the extremely horrible ones. WoW is remembered for both at this point, and not for it’s benefit.

What you need to succeed as a designer is to play games, and be able to break down and analyze those games, why they’re fun for their target audience. I am confident that even the most senior staff of the current WoW Team doesn’t play their own game, or are able to define good games. It’s the reason why class design all over the board is garbage, why lore, worldbuilding and storytelling is garbage, why leveling is garbage, why endgame content is garbage, why progression systems are garbage, and why this game is actually a 0/10 at this point.

Players who love this game, the most passionate folk that I’ve had the pleasure of talking and playing with, those who were once diehard fans of this game and company have quit and have never looked back, still carrying the sorrow that this one of a kind amazing game failed them. I have always played this game one way or another (private servers / custom servers / retail), and I am nearing 43k hours of /played across all the servers, all the characters, all the alphas and betas, and all the development servers for the private servers I tested for. I will continue playing retail because of Wrath Classic, but it looks like that’ll be the end of the line for me with Blizzard. Given that the Classic team doesn’t have game designers, SoM2 / Vanilla+ aren’t going to be fun or successful in the long term. Dragonflight is already set up to fail, and I don’t have any faith in 11.0 either.

They need to get their head out of their arses. What Blizzard is doing is terrible, disgusting, and downright insulting, and anyone who claims otherwise is either an idiot, suffering from Stockholm Syndrome or are on a payroll. And people wonder why Modern Gaming is awful.

Basically, if any Blue is reading this, this is my application to be a game designer for WoW (and what I said about my country’s currency inflating - US minimum wage would be a living wage for me, so that’s another big plus for ya’ll). Rant over.

It is frustrating to play a class or specc blizzard seems to keep low, i dont remember the last time ret was meta if it ever has been that is.

Blizzard need to do something major for paladin but we have yet to see them do anything about that.
