Is it me or does the reputation rewards in dragonflight seem abit … lacking. If i am grinding for weeks or months on end I dont feel that a re-colour of the Drakthyr start gear is worth the effort.
There are 4 Renown factions in the Dragonflight launch. You will meet them as you level through the Dragon Isles:
Just for reference in case anyone wanted to look through.
they just need to add 1% stat buff for each renown lvl
Some people (mostly ‘big 3’ players) didn’t want power gains for world content. So we are basically only getting cosmetic rewards. That type of reward is highly subjective; some people will like the design/look/aesthetic, some will not.
If you don’t think it’s worth the effort; then don’t do it. It’s not mandatory.
And to be clear: I’m sad there’s no power grind anymore. I’m one of those people who DID like it. I get why they removed it, because having blockades of mandatory grind content to be able to do the content you enjoy; that isn’t fun.
But Blizzard could at least have added some form of worthwhile power progression specific for world content. But no… ‘We’ get screwed over once again, because that’s almost always the case. ‘We’ are the second-rate citizens of WoW.
yes but in fact we are getting more rewards than the previous exp. I think (as you know im not a big 3 player) its a good deal.
I think they have chosen in thisn way to understand exactly how much people care about open world content with no power gain.
I think it’s better not to have any power gain from renown, that way it’s something you can opt to do if it appeals to you and they’ve improved the experience for alts.
Overal it’s more yes, but the quality and desirability of those rewards completely depend on your own personal taste. So if you don’t like half of the rewards you’re getting and won’t ever use them; that’s 50% less rewards right there.
Maybe. If that’s the case I hope that almost noone does world content anymore.
So they can start doing power gains again; at least a power gain that’s exclusive to world content (it can be useless or downgraded in group content, that’s fine with me).
The power grind was pointless. By the time you got to the point where you could get the items, they were outdated or irrelevant.
It wasn’t pointless for me. It was something I could work towards over time; getting more powerful is fun.
They might be outdated or irrelevant for big 3 players, but that’s not who I want world content power gain to be aimed towards.
I’m already overwhelmed
if you dont run M or Raid they arent pointless.
Agree to disagree then.
I might be a solo/world content player, but I still like getting more powerful. That will stop very quickly (like it did in Shadowlands). That’s going to lead to me being bored and done and quitting. Blizzard is making the same mistake they made in Shadowlands; the only difference here is that the overal themes and setting are more appealing, so hopefully that’ll be enough for some to ‘stay’.
Now, an important factor in this is also their release schedule for DF patches. If they again fall into the sloooooow release schedule they had in Shadowlands, then DF is doomed. They need a schedule comparable to Legion… Keep the content coming; keep people engaged.
What the crap is a big 3 player?
I just did normal raids and they were irrelevant and lower item level than what I was getting.
Even LFR does them over.
yes but i just run LFR for mogs
A player who does M+, rated PvP and/or raiding.
Those are ‘the big 3’ pillars of endgame.
I believe that world content should be the 4th pillar; but Blizzard keep screwing it up one way or another.
They can’t please everyone, it’s always the issue. They’ve moved away from borrowed power.
I will still do all the renowns and reputations that DF brings and I’m looking forward to a system that doesn’t make me choose one like we had with covenants.
I’m always happy to agree to disagree with you
I get that and I’m not asking for borrowed power.
I’m asking for a decent power progression for world content.
So will I; that’s the plan anyway.
But if I’m not interested in the rewards, the urge to do it will not be there. The fun won’t be there. Power is ALWAYS a good reward, always. That is my point.
They keep listening to those who play the big three complain that someone doing world content can get upgrades too.
Exactly. And god knows why. Those players aren’t any more important.
I don’t think it’s really a case of an issue with rewards, after all they’ve added ways for everyone to get tier sets with the catalyst system.
It’'s more a case that if you are raiding/m plus/pvp-ing you don’t want to have to spend your life doing menial chores in order to be able to do that. Which I do agree with.
I despise make you play metrics. I don’t think it’s healthy for players or the game. So they need to reach a happy medium.
But that’s just my opinion.
