I’ll be glad if they scaled the rewards back abit this expansion. IMO they went kinda nutty in SL and I will still be trying to collect all the rewards from there probably 2 expansion from now!
Not for world content players anymore; not in DF.
Me too.
And that’s NOT what I’m suggesting. Please understand that.
Which they are not. They’re WILDLY SWINGING THE OTHER WAY. It’s not a medium. It’s a complete 180.
All I want is for world content to have a power progression of its own. Something that those players can earn and work towards over the course of a patch’s lifetime.
A power gain that ONLY works in world content. So that none of the big 3 activities are impacted by it.
That is all I want. To be treated like I’m an actual player of WoW as well.
And not as if all I care about is ‘playing barbie dress up online’.
What do you mean?
There’s literally nothing that world content players can use for the catalyst.
How Does the Inspiration Catalyst Work?
The Inspiration Catalyst is virtually the same system as the Creation Catalyst from Shadowlands and it works in a similar way.
You must provide a non-set Season 1 item piece of the appropriate slot. Eligible items are from the Vault of the Incarnates raid, Mythic+ Dungeons, PvP, Dragonflight World Bosses, the weekly chest, Valdrakken gear vendors, and weekly bonus event quests.
The applicable slots are Helms, Shoulders, Cloaks, Chests, Bracers, Gloves, Belts, Legs, and Boots, but only items that occupy Tier Set slots will be converted into set pieces. The remaining slots are converted just for transmog.
The item used to create a set piece will be consumed in the process.
It lists Valdrakken gear vendor? Is that not stuff you have access to as a non big three?
Valdrakken gear vendors are for Valor stuff and such afaik.
I COULD be mistaken, but I don’t think I am.
I will do more digging!
Btw, I don’t mean to sound too negative about the renown… I’ll do them regardless, the story chapters you unlock with them are reason enough alone.
But… I just want Blizzard to start treating world content players as actual players.
I’m genuinely curious, don’t worry.
There should be an equivalent to the ZM gear to convert to tier IMO. But I never looked to see if there was.
I recall reading that there wasn’t (but I could be mistaken). There used to be, until they decided that crafted gear wouldn’t work with the catalyst.
The reason world content doesn’t reward progression gear is because it doesn’t need it. And you cannot expect to gain the same progress as “The big three” gets because the content is wildly different in difficulty and amount of dedication needed.
If world content had a way to get the same or similar rewards to end game content it’d have to have a higher scaling and let’s be honest majority of people who want progression in world content like world content because it’s relaxed. Upping it’s difficulty would ruin world content for more players than it would help.
If you don’t like doing dungeons and raid and pvp then you’re limiting yourself on a big chunk of the game and if that’s frustrating you maybe the game isn’t for you anymore if you purposely shut out majority of it’s end-game.
I’m someone who enjoys all types of content, excluding pvp because I’m dog at it but that doesn’t mean I’ll ask for the same rewards PvP gets for not participating in it, that’s my decision and if I opt out of that experience I opt out on it’s rewards, the same principle can be used on all types of content.
It does need it. Because players need it. To have fun.
Read back to what I said. I never suggested getting ‘the same progress’.
It seems you really didn’t understand, or refuse to understand, any of the complaints I have and any of the suggestions I made.
- Like I have explained: That’s not what I’m doing.
- Yet you get to walk into PvP and do quite fine with your PvE earned gear. You get to abuse the power of that gear doing other content than what you earned it in. How is that fair?
I think they can have their own level or progression though. It doesn’t need to be on par with rewards from coordinated end game content.
Really ticks me off that we can’t make the uber leet gear without doing a raid for a reagent. The raiders won’t want the gear, they’ll use it for 5 seconds before getting an upgrade, this is always the case. By the time you’d get a full crafted set, you’d have a better set from M+ or Raiding. We get like… 4 of the things from the reputations.
Why can’t we get a full sets worth? I could spend ages levelling alts and their professions to have a full army and gear them via that but noooo. Just… urge… to strangle… increasing…
Maybe this is something that needs to be tied into the vault, could possibly have a scaling level of gear for completing a set number or world quests per week. I dont know how many there are because i dont usually do them but maybe on a scale like Mythic + Keystone rewards.
Perhaps if you amass enough WQ points it awards a cholce of 1,2 or 3 items in the weekly vault.
Not sure that the items should be of the same ilevel as Mythic raid gear but like Mythic+ rewards a few levels lower.
Whatever is added there will be some people moaning about easy rewards but as far as i can see its not going to matter. If people are only world content players the likelyhood of them suddenly jumping into Mythic+ or Raids with the new gear is slim anyway.
Im just rolling ideas here so forgive my if my suggestions are rubbish
in fact is avoiding just an hamster wheel for people that never like run’em.
Im happily avoiding this kind of content since wotlk (M from legion ofc) and this game still suit for me.
People isnt able to understand that sometimes exists other people with different taste. And… are you sure there is so few people avoiding group content?
Tah:
you know people arent permitted to have fun. Sometimes i envy Conjurer magross fishing in dalaran instead beoin forced to be a mage
If you have played pvp before you’d know that’s false, pvp gear requires versatility, my spec doesn’t use versatility at all in pve gear. Making what you said just pure false, only very few pve specs use the same stats for pvp as pvp.
Whilst I totally understand that point of view, as shown by some complaint threads that have popped up during Shadowlands about world content gear not being enough and end game gear should have been accessible for world content it’ll just result in the good old “I want more” mentality.
It’s happened so many times before.
=======================================
I get you guys, I get the complaints, I understand the points that are being brought but as someone who also does world content, does dungeons and does raiding I just don’t agree with world content rewards being gear progression.
That’s why there are dungeons and raids. I would like world content to hold other rewardss, titles, achievements, transmog sets and/weapon appearances/ mounts that are exclusive to it. And more quest lines, long quest lines that takes a long time, grinding items, doing world quests, etc and at the end being rewarded for your time, not by gear but by unique things.
Gear disappears, mogs, mounts, titles and achievements do not.
Also more Zereth Mortis type of progression, give us buffs in zones that you only get by doing things in the zone that outweigh gear progression. Zereth Mortis was a great concept of this and I want that to be introduced more and bigger.
if there is nothing to gain in the open world except cosmetic stuff then i will lvl up my chars (6) and then i stop playing the game until the next xpack, Blizz need to realise that alot of the casuals just grind rep do world bosses and get so now and then a good world drop, if this is not the case in DF then its just the lvling process and nothing more.
I dont do any world content unless i have to, its not something i find fun. Having said that i dont see why it cant award gear. It makes no difference to me where a player gets the gear they are using. If i am running a key i dont look to see where that player got the ilvl they have, i just look to see if the ilvl is reasonable for what i want to do.
I dont think that world quests should drop Mythic level gear but i dont think anyone is asking for that. I dont see anything wrong with putting in something that allows people who solely do world content to improve their gear, even if its something akin to Valor and then allowing world quest rewards to be upgraded. Its the same type of timegating that wow usually has for gear upgrades.
Im not going to stop doing Mythic Keys to go and do WQ and i expect the World content players arent going to start doing keys with the new gear either.
I did not mind either in Legion. But in BFA and then SL it started to get tedious having to perform the same donkey task. Only for me in SL it felt very unrewarding since the world scaled with me, but thats me and I do not enjoy slogging 24months to feel pretty much as weak as day one.
I don’t see why they cant revert back to the same system as MoP. Where each season you go quest to get a piece of your Legendary and slowly build its power over each season to the end of the expansion. We had the cloak, then the ring. The we got the weapon with some amazing mogs to go with. After that the neck and the cloak again. For DF would be cool to have a weapon. I would even be happy with a cloak again with some cool animations and effects just like MoP.
