Dragonflight Talent Previews - Hunter and Rogue

Overall love the new system but on first impressions, some of the big things I don’t like are:

  • Smoke bomb has been removed?
  • Tricks of the trade is useless for pvp but is necessary for that whole side of the tree
  • Raid buff/utility should be class wide not just assassination/outlaw as sub will never get into raids

Sure but it’s the exact same tooltip as on retail so I don’t get the confusion, the talent fundamentally is the same, it’s just a two rank talent now

Where’s my warrior talents at man? :smiling_face_with_tear:

You’re talking about the talents themselves, I’m talking about the lattice. Doesn’t matter what the talents are if you are locked into a restrictive lattice.

Hunter seems interesting. Looking forward to see how they will be to play with.

What exactly was the thought here?
As i play rogue for quite a while, i recon seeing everything in this talent tree at some point already, mostly is CURRENTLY in the game.
Basically the current passives and Talents were stripped into a talent tree where you can choose out some stuff… Why? Whats the use of this? It´s the same but different…?
I mean i get to have to choose between passive A and B, but how the hell do you come up with the idea to have Shadow Dance as a talent point for SUBTLETY ROGUE. THE ONLY REASON this spec exists is because of shadow dance, why tf is this a talent i need to choose? Why cant it be that you get X% more dmg in shadow dance instead of enabling the whole freaking spec with 1 talent?
This is just one example of… well… all of them.

Are you crazy? Did you watch tournament? Like 90% of teams had Rogues in every match. Maybe even more. Some matches even had 2 Rogues on same team.

Basically instead of spezialising a spec, you now build the spec from scratch.
Then for example why is crimson vial apparently default on rogue, but evasion and cloak of shadows are not? I just can´t figure out what the thought process was in here.
I mean there is some cool stuff which is new and interacts different and unique with each other, but other stuff is just ???
For example blade flurry as a talent point for outlaw rogues is just wtf? Not having this spell makes this spec absolute useless. Further if i dont pick this talent then i cannot pick the whole right talent half.
Why can´t we go back and forth? It should definitely be possible to move from top to bottom and vise versa, not only from top to bottom, if the talents are connected.

Restless Crew: Restless Blades also affects party members within 40 yds, reducing the remaining cooldown of a major offensive ability by 0.2 sec per combo point spent.

Dont change this, lets make a support rogue build.
Full haste & CP generation and waste, make the cds of ur raid ready every few seconds. I would really like that

Rogue talent trees looks absolutely incredible! Might be my main in Dragonflight.

Hunters going bm in dragonflight be like…

Rogue trees look really interesting. And giving them some raid utility with Restless Crew is great! :muscle:

I looked at the BM hunter tree and noticed that you can make builds without bestial wrath which I found odd, there are going to be some crazy random builds when DF releases and I kind of want to see how unique some players create their characters.

Clearly the work of a rogue.

It’s baseline for all rogues, so it’s not on the tree.

Why do you insist on keeping cloaked in shadows in the game, despite everyone stating that it is degenerate game design?

Rogue and mage can not be bad, they never have been and never will be since 2004, it’s just the way it is. That is how the game is designed.

On word, if you want to play a class that will always be good no matter what happens, you play rogue or mage.

When it comes to Beast Mastery hunters I wish they put all shot talents on one side and all pet talents on the other. I wish I could talent a BM hunter that mostly focuses on pet damage, I’m not a fan of how Barbed Shot talents pollute every corner of the tree.

Also A Murder of Crows is BM only now I guess.

As a last note, it seems like Hydra’s Bite is nowhere to be seen. Alas I really liked the AoE DoT playstyle.

Wait, so Deeper Stratagem is on the general Rogue tree, but also on the Outlaw and Subtlety trees? Is that a mistake or on purpose? Will we be able to take it twice and get seven total combo points?

Could have summarised Rogue base abilities to ‘same as is’.

Also, could you give us an idea which abilities you are most likely to nerf after the first coupla weeks play.

Yes.
Say hello to 8 second kidney shots…

MM Hunter has me genuinely excited and thinking of sticking to my hunter rather than go evoker as main.
