Dreamfoil Herbalism bots ruining the server

Honestly, I am done trying to farm dreamfoil on the Thunderstrike EU server. It is overwhelmed with herbalism/mining bots that have gone rampant over the past few months. No matter how many reports I make they are not getting banned. Nothing is being done about it. There are entire guilds that are just botting.

Right now it is so bad they are completely cornering the market on dreamfoil. Right now the first 100 stacks of dreamfoil are sold by bot accounts.

The bots mainly operate in Azshara, Unguru Crater and Felwood. Please wake up and do something about this. They are easy to detect and can be quickly and easily banned if a little bit of effort is done into it.

Blizzard at fault, Black lotus fixed caused low level herbs to increase in price due to supply and demand, with Lotus mafia ruined they are targeting low lvl herbs for fap, lip etc

I need like 200-250 gold per raid … flask pots /pot usage and of course the resistance … I don’t have a mage to aoe farm …
I’m literally thinking of just quit .

Also i had a topic in December 2024 about specific bots …
8 months same bots same area…Yep

You can farm herbs in dire maul?

Why should the game manufacturer ban a paying customer? Try to find an answer for this simple question.

Mentioned this in another thread, but I believe there’s not enough normal people playing, I’m not gonna count some guys alt who’s getting boosted to 60. The game needs those regular people who level organically to max level, amassing materials as they go…

Add in a lackluster effort from BLizzard to deal with bots and the market can be easily controlled by some people…

My take, however, is one of acceptance, if you will. I have not attempted to compete with the bots, as much as I enjoy gathering I don’t partake in it. I do dungeon farms, and I think most people do as well. And basically, if the materials get to a point where I can’t keep up then alright, I’ll just quit I guess. It’s not that big of a deal. These servers don’t really matter, anyways. They’re just one of many.

Here is an idea, add a secret layer where bots can be forcibly placed on with a 90% reduction spawn rate of herbs and mining. They cannot leave that layer instance except when entering a dungeon

Also avoids real players from being accidently perma banned.

Because they are breaching the games ToA. People get banned for having addons installed, having literally computers play your character for you is a joke.

You think, the bots breach the rules because they use some unauthorized programs in the background? How do we know this? Can’t it be possible that there are some poor Chinese or Iranian people or even from Africa playing on some old boxes in SVGA resolution at a tube monitor and earning some money for the family? Don’t mistake me, I’m not at the pity trip. But how do we know these are really bots? Only because they don’t answer the whispers?

Then they are profiteering for RL gold - Again, against ToA.

No matter how you swing it mate, they’re breaking the rules in one way or another. Pick your poison.

I don’t get it that an average player can be banned because of picking some herbs, but entire bot armies can’t? Am I at the wrong movie?

Because one bot account leads to two real accounts being closed, because people don’t want to play on bot-infested game. It’s simple finances.

Oh lol, I don’t care. They ruin peoples’ gaming experience.
Again, just look at the fishing bots. The way they approach the fish schools is obviously not ā€œhandmadeā€. They run into the water in a curve, wait a few sec close to the pool and then go back to find the place to cast the fishing rod.

I don’t have the time to observe suspected bots. But when you explain it this way, I want to believe. On the other hand there is the question why a bot should report a player. A bot is not a person, so what reason should the bot have to report someone real person that is playing nearby? How does it achieve that as there is no one right-clicking and selecting ā€˜report player’?

Herbalism and mining bots are very easy to detect and it takes 3 seconds to determine if that player is botting or not.

which class are u playing to burn that much gold? i can only think of priest/druid being expensive if u gotta burn dark runes on cd. mc+bwl are cleared in under an hour combined so u gotta be doing something wrong

I like to gank bots when I see them. I killed a hunter in Silithus around 20x in one day
