D.R.I.V.E - Experience so far

There are D.R.I.V.E.-races like you can find dragonriding quests (flags). There are also rocket-flying races

There are several DRIVE-upgrades that make handling a lot better.

Switch the engine to the second one (Which has a lot lower max speed, but better control, it has the icon of a bouquet of flowers), and the engineering-crafted tires (Which improve handling) at the garage, they make a lot of difference IMO.

Personally, i think Blizz got it backwards, it would’ve been better to give us the easy handling items to start with (To get used to it and give an overall better impression of DRIVE), and make the speedster-items the opt-in ones.

I’ve clicked on the ‘elderly lady who goes groceries shopping’ mode. That helped a ton. The fast mode made me nauseous as hell, ugh.

Yeah nothing positive here.I decided to try it today, just to see.Its worse than I imagined, that speed on those streets its just not working.
I would ve prefered if they made ground mounts 200% speed or smth.
That car and Drive are not fit for purpose.

This needs to be highlighted, not only in regards to this patch zone, but to the overall zone design philosophy. Zones are wayy too cluttered and vertical in recent expansions. While they may look gorgeous artistically, they’re very annoying to navigate on (even it today with dragonriding we can easily reach whenever we need to go to).

Blizzard needs to take inspiration from older, big zones - with a nice balance between verticality and large, vast portions without too much clutter (like Howling Fjord, Borean Thundra, Grizzly Hills). Sometimes less, is more.

This is why I’m having trouble to genuinely love the zones from new expansions and patches - while they can be visually/atristically stunning, they’re often too cluttered. I want more zones in the likes of Isle of Dorn/Ohnaran Plains and with clutter toned down

My favourite thing is that enemy mobs don’t aggro and knock you off the “mount”. Now that I got used to it, it is pretty enjoyable. What I dislike is how limited the interaction with the environment feels like. I wouldn’t mind if I don’t drop off the mount each time I talk to an NPC.

Just a thought, but why is the D.R.I.V.E action bar unique?
Why can’t it be more like Sky riding?

I genuinely hope it doesn’t continue to be a feature unless I can drive a car across azeroth. I prefer flight ten thousand fold.

I find drive to be gimmicky and frankly the space we have just doesn’t do it any justice. We’re in a tiny zone and the cars handle like absolute crap. They’re a chore to use.

I get they’re a goblin thing but the cars also feel misplaced in world of warcraft. That could just be me, I mean we do have bikes and stuff.

someone should get fired because you can’t adapt to a new optional system?

verticality is good. makes zones more interesting

great for big open zones

just a shame we cant use it there

its implementation has been awful

i also notice running about the zone that i see more normal mounts that these stupid cars

I agree, that is what I am doing. Might try the boy racer stuff when I haven’t got so much to do.

drive is cool, but far from being very good. especially when you look at the competing/rival games

its probably 10x better than dragon flying imho, i love it. sure the zone is laggy and some of the terrain is inconsistent (Looking at you fiery torches) but so far ive had a great time with it and yet to have any real gripes with it, understanding how it works properly was the worst issue for me as how I approached or well, wanted to approach it was now how the system worked. but now i understand and i dont mind

I crashed into a wall and disconnected…twice.

Seems like something what goblins would do and find fun

It seems goblin are not the most logic driven or pragmatic race of azeroth. They are just full speed and no brakes, with a mix of greed.

They’re Americans!

would be awesome if they introduced some racing game mode like Mario Cart or Crash Bash racing
