D.R.I.V.E - Experience so far

It looks and sounds cool but what’s the point when the actual gameplay is hollow? It’s like having a flashy sports car with no engine. Nice to look at but completely useless where it matters.

I’d love to go full speed or do some drifting but theres always something in the way. Zone feels incredibly small and too cluttered.

I love it. I particularly enjoy zooming around the map in 20 seconds and ganking people in World PvP.

Solid 9/10.

thats because whole layout is criticaly flawed.

they had an idea but the implemntation is just garbage.

Feels like im playing pinball while driving a bus. nah, pass. ill walk. Not a fan of it, Zone’s cool tho!

I’m prefering to use my normal riding mount.
I just don’t feel it - with the D.R.I.V.E. or the patch itself.

It’s a big ‘pass’ from me for now.

Honestly, with D.R.I.V.E. I have more fun than Skyriding when it was introduced in Dragonflight. It’s easy to control. I won Gold in all races without any problems. Now I would only like to have more options to change the appearance of this vehicle than just the color. Great idea and execution honestly.

I’m not a fan of D.R.I.V.E and unimpressed.
The controls might feel good on a Controller. But Keyboard Controls for a driving function, that’s a No brano for me.
It feels unnecessary for the kind of game WoW is and unlike Dragonflying where it takes practice to get good at it, D.R.I.V.E just feels too hasty and too cramped for a limited area that isn’t big enough for it.
I’m going to have to give D.R.I.V.E:
A Jailer out of 10.

Call me crazy but how hard is it to make the driving intuitive?
WASD = w: forward, a: left, d: right, and keep it drifting that way when you hit space…
Who made this garbage that wasd inputs get nullified if you hold any mouse buttons to look around? Literally worst vehicle controls in any game I have ever seen in games from the last 30 years. Fire whoever DEI did this.

Worse version of gw2’s roller beetle. Total failure of a system in my eyes

Another flaw!
When you finally get some speed and you prepare to hit that sweet drift spot… You jump instead!! … My frustration continues!!

I am trying so hard to adapt to this system, but my god, every button you press, causes more headaches.

I’ve got gold on all races easily, and have no trouble with it you need to modify the car the base version we all get is hard to handle. You need to get

22H Slicks: which increase grip when drifting. It gives a lot of control
The Pozzik Standard: Which has a higher top speed but decrease acceleration. Much better than the standard.
Handcrank Turbo: Boost speed decreased and Efficiency Increased. Boost to accelerate faster and more often but doesn’t launch you into space like the others.

22H comes from Auction House or Engineering.
The Pozzik standard comes from getting Bronze in races in undermine.
Handcrank turbo comes from rares.

It makes it so much easier to control and travel around and also can get gold in races easily with them as well.

Blizzard didn’t do a great job explaining how they built this system. A lot of people in this chat are calling it “terrible,” and honestly, I think much of that frustration comes from a lack of clear communication. If Blizzard had simply put out a detailed post saying something like, “Yes, it’s rough at first, but you improve it by collecting upgrades,” I think most of us would have been like, “Oh, okay, that makes sense!”

I’m going to keep tweaking the car and testing it. I don’t have high expectations right now since there are still plenty of other issues, but hopefully, I can at least make the handling feel a bit more manageable.

This made me laugh so hard…and its so so real.

Drive is great, but the zone can’t support it due to its tiny size. Yea, pretty much nailed it.

I like it instead. I don’t feel like the zone ain’t big enough, when the terrain is too rough I slow down a bit to enhance precision and then open gas back again when I see a straight route or an easy curve. In time it gets better when you get more used to it!

Maybe they could shrink us and the car so we are like micro machines

This. When I’m chasing after some rare on the map it’s annoying that I have to click that dismount button first so that I can start attacking.

Overall I mostly enjoy the feature. It took a while to get used to the handling, but as long as one doesn’t try to constantly accellerate like with other mounts, it’s fine.

Im lil disappointed that you cant hit the quest mobs with your car.

or no visual customization options for the car, just a new feature to make wow people do the wojak “wow” face
