i want a fast pace dps class that is good at pvp and can raid decently i would either be going for feral or sub i am allince and if i go rogue idk the race what class is better for the long run
Both rogue and pure cat are really bad in TBC. Like bottom tier usefulness, just a tiny bit above Alliance retris. Rogue is strong on arenas, but you’re going to have a hard time finding raid spots.
Rogue doesn’t start finding a place in raid rosters till BT with the glaives and I believe most guilds will have 1 one the roster for Sunwell, but before that, they are bottom pick. They bring little to nothing to a raid comp. They are strong in PVP though.
Feral is a better choice, but be willing to offtank when required. Feral damage isn’t ‘bad’, though it will never be top tier. Generally 1-2 spots for feral druids in raids, depending on comp, 1 of which will likely purely be tanking, the other a mix of tanking and dps, stuck in the melee group for the buff.
Melee overal is pretty bad early TBC, but scales up well towards the end. If you want a fast paced melee that has a decent shot at a raid spot, also in earlier raid tiers, I’d probably say enhancement shaman is your best choice.
ok then what is good and ive got a raid slot anyways no matter what class i am as long as i am dps and im not a huge fan of casters as i find the spell casting boring
There is alot of talk about rogues being bad in tbc. And yes they are not top dps early on. But they still dish out good dmg if executed correctly. And they are very good in pvp. If you wan’t to play rogue or druid you should do it. Just dont get into a sweaty class stacking hardcore guild and you are fine. Choosing druid will probably funnel you into some offtanking. So as long as you are into that choose whatever you feel like. If you only want to dps and don’t worry about having gear for tanking aswell as dps pieces choose rogue. Sure you might be able to find a spot as pure cat too. But be prepared to have to do some tanking.
Just play what you want, don’t look at parses and being the top dps in the world, that isn’t important. Important is, what you would enjoy and just play it. It’s very probable that ppl from min-max culture would discourage you from playing certain classes, because they don’t hit the top. And what’s not top is being useless for them.
Nah, even in semi-hardcore guilds you shouldn’t have the issue of finding a spot in raid. I raided as rogue in TBC and never had a problem with finding a spot in raids (despite that TBC is a bit unfriendly to all melee classes).
It reminds me, when before classic ppl was saying hunter sucks, will have the problem with finding raid spot and will be used only for tranq shot. Nothing from these prophecies did happen, and hunters are welcomed in raids as well as other classes.
So… don’t listen the voices, which attempts to persuade to not pick certain class. Pick what you want and enjoy the game,TBC will be the event of the year!
If you got raid spot anyway, even as a suboptimal class, then idk, play what you like? Or again, take into account that rogue is more flexible on arenas than cat.
What Silblade said.
I would probably say: If you want to be a hardcore min-maxer realm first/world first type player, I don’t think you have a huge shot with druid or rogue, but what do I know… I am a pretty big noob.
But for anything besides that, anything and everything works!
Play what you want, ignore the min/maxers.
Rogues are fine in TBC, they’re just not Warlock levels of stupidly OP.
Rogue is the strongest DPS class in arena, while feral is quite weak, so if you have a raid spot regardless, I’d say it’s a pretty simple choice
honestly just play what is more fun to you. it’s not like you wont find spots in groups at all. you just have to search for a little bit longer.
Yeah but compared to other classes spots for hunters are limited to 2, usually.
i’ll agree with sneakyfists, play what you want !
