I know that Classic is not forgiving but I am having issues with my druid, currently level 19. I am also levelling other classes and can make direct comparisons which all are not in favour of the druid.
I have avg gear mostly agil. I fight in bear, and my DPS is way low plus I get hit for a tonne, it is not as if being in bear buys me a lot more time. Mana aside, I do double DPS spamming Wrath, if I play like a mage for example (DPS, kill, drink, repeat).
I know I have mis-talented 5 talents into Balance, but I am not sure that this is to blame for the abysmal performance as bear.
This might be, but I hope you picked Ferocity next.
At 10-19 make sure you have thorns up at all times (it can mean a significant fraction of damage, especially at your level!), pull with a couple of spells, maybe Rejuvenation on yourself, go bear, demoralizing roar if fighting 2+ mobs (and sometimes one too), finish it in melee range.
At 20 it gets much better though, as you can fight in cat form all the way and just use your mana for self-healing.

Yes, Wrath is more DPS until 20. However when mob is on you it’s more complicated due to pushback.
I levelled 10-20 like this - Wrath, Moonfire, Wrath, bear, finish it. You can drink every other mob, but you don’t have to do it: you’ll kill anything in bear, just slower, but your mana will regen during the fight.
After cat form is available, you can just Claw-Claw-Claw-Claw-FB.
Bear is not a DPS form in the first place

Until you get your catform,lvling will be a very slow. There isn’t much you can do other than Reju, Pre-dot and go in a bear form. Also if you find a strength gear, you may want to equip it, that’s the only way to increase your overall dps in forms(not including talents.)
I just want to point out something that 1 Str = 2 Attack Power while agility does give you just 1 AP. So if you find gear that has Str in it, you may want to equip it.

Druid leveling is fine but dont expect to be anything other than a second rate healer in raids and a flag runner/ sit afk at stables in bgs. No one cares about AV cuz its nerfed version R.I.P AV

So druid isnt a second rate healer? Druid is a viable dps in raids? Druids are not the best flag runners and any druid that doesnt run flags in a team with no other druid isnt being selfish. A class with a over time poison dispel and sheep immunity and stealth isnt a top tier anchor for ab?
Mage leveling is fine but don’t expect to be anything other than aoe spell cleaver and a food/drink slave in raids.

There are several viable dps builds for druids if geared properly. Boomkin is one of them. Resources available online. + It’s already been established you don’t need to min max to clear content in classic - have fun and play what you want, there’s bound to be a spot for you.

Druids are support classes, but you’re talking as if druids were dead weight. No, obviously min/maxing raids won’t have any reason to let a druid DPS because they’ll be behind other classes, but then that bar can always be arbitrarily raised; it’s just druids are among the first to fall.
The AB thing is false. Druids are fine at PvP.
The AV thing is entirely subjective. If you don’t think you’ll like AV it’s your problem, not ours.
And the last level on which you’re wrong is trying to poison a thread about a legitimate question regarding leveling a fun and interesting class by implying they’re garbage and shouldn’t bother.

No-one here asked the question: “What class is the best on the DPS meter?”.
Not everybody wants to, or will do end-game raids.
Not everybody wants to role a mage.

Its not viable as a dps its meh as a tank so most likely it will heal and yes most raiding druids raid as resto so most likely you will raid as resto
You level in feral and bear scales poorly with agility
Even non min maxing guilds dont take resto.druids
