Dual Spec - Stop

Come ON people. Stop crying for dual spec it is a WOTLK feature - i am respeccing twice each week on two chars thats 200g which is easily farmable even more so when daily quest hubs arrive.

And its not just QoL “cause u have gold but cba redoing talents” etc etc.

It allows you to just go “screw it ill change spec to tank” on the fly same thing in raids
It is a fundamental change which changes how people could approach raids. Even if admittedly it would possibly be easier to form dungeon groups (tanks duh).

If ppl keep crying about dual spec / pvp balance there wont even be a WOTLK classic LOL

Edit:

Take a good look on some of the people that replied here - those are the same ones that slowly killed what wow was about back in the day and they are trying to do it again haha.

I do not believe TBC is the best incarnation of wow but I knew what i signed up for (same as with classic) so go back to retail for lfr/dual spec or other stuff you “do not like”.

No one cried about dual spec in classic (or impossible rep farms) even tho farming or doing pvp as ur “worse” spec was well… on average worse than it is right now in TBC.

Off to retail with you and either wait for when WOTLK happens like you waited for 9.1 or let TBC play out and make classic die cause of whiners.

The usual argument that I’ve seen is essentially free respec between two sets of talents. Not the “switch on the fly”-thing.

^ This. When dual spec was introduced in original Wrath the systems that followed it used the change on the fly feature as a base.
For example:

  • Automatic cross realm LFD tool. If you inputed your preferred roles as dps and healer, you were expected, that you have gear and talent specialisations for both roles and can change them on the fly once get teleported inside instance.

If Blizzard desides to add dual spec into TBC, they should make free specialisation swap available only at class trainers, to prevent stealth nerfing of easy enough TBC raid content. But that contradicts with Wrath LFD I mentioned earlier, so either change it later to what it has been during Wrath or keep Class trainer visit mandatory to spice up Wrath difficulty a bit. You can provide single spec swap when entering LFD dungeon, depending on your role instead.

If this is your best argument against allowing people to enjoy the game then they should have implemented dual spec 3 months ago. Just make people forced to visit vendor when they switch and it’s done.

Thanks for supporting dual spec.

Or u can quit like the rest of whiners that did not know what they signed up for when they announced TBC.

How about we add LFR and specific rating gates for pvp titles like on retail so bads like you stop crying lmao

Good for you, not everyone enjoy questing though. Why force someone to play something they dont enjoy for a few hours, before they can actually play what they like?

yes there will be, incase you didnt know there were ALOT more added to wotlk than dual specc.

You can also quit if you dont like it if they add dual spec.

I personally would love to see dual specc. Even if it costs more gold than i’ll ever spend on respeccing.

Its a huge QoL

Sure, i dont mind. I wont be doing lfr anyway, beacause raiding with pugs is pure pain. And LFR seem to attract the most useless people in the game as well. But just beacause i wont do LFR, dont mean i dont want it added ever to the game.

If others enjoy LFR, they can have it. I dont care wether they add it or not.

They should be doing this, give certain rewards on certain rating, incentivies people into playing the game.

I dont mind if they rating lock pvp gear either. Season 2 shoulders (for example) isnt a HUGE upgrade from season 1, its barely a difference.

“Go play some bad game because I don’t want changes that actually lets people to play the better one”.

The main reason people are against dual spec is because they want to use the excuse “I can’t help you with x because I don’t want to respec”.

There is 0 good reason to not implement dual spec.

They shouldn’t because that incentive doesn’t work. People stop playing after they reach the title because there is nothing to play for after that. What they really should do is add another title between duelist and gladiator.

Well, i personally dont care about titles. I play pvp beacause its fun, and i remember in earlier expansions people did the same. Sure titles etc is fun to get, but its not why im doing it atleast.

Couldn’t agree more with OP.

Yes we need dual spec. Queueing into AB/WSG and you get 3 warriors whos all prot.

Why have to level before playing endgame?
Why have to farm gear before raiding?
Why have to farm honor before getting PvP gear?
Why have to kill a boss before getting loot?
Why have to get gold before getting stuff from AH?
Why have to run to a vendor before buying?
Why have to work before getting a salary?

Not everything has to be enjoyed on the way to a reward/advantage. Thats what adds to it feeling good when you get it, or when it enables you to play in advantageous way - where others havent put in the same work.

Salary already means compensation for work being done, that’s why. The others do not necessarily have to be that way, for example Guild Wars 2 did PvP without gear or leveling.

Great, then there’s a game for all these people wanting exactly that! Wonder why they hang on these forums…

I wish people played WoW because of the gameplay, not because they are in some kind of psychosis.

Feels like you are just grasping for straws here, some very thin arguements tbh.
We are talking about 2 different aspects of the game. Imagine if people who enjoyed pve was forced into doing pvp constantly every week, for a few hours? The pve’ers would go mental (we would also see what we saw on retail to some degree i think)

But out of curiousity, why/what do you think would happen if we got dual spec?
Sure, some people would prob quit. But i honestly think more people would do pvp and pve from both sides, and thats good for the game no?

I see it often on my server atleast (guildies/friends/random pugs in instance groups), people talking about they cba doing pvp in pve specc and vice-versa. And i understand them, beacause its absolute pain.

Being rewarded in a way that gatekeeps newer players/people with less time is a bad idea if you ask me. Honor pvp gear and unrated arena gear is basically participation trophies, you don’t actually have perform well to get it. It’s unnecessary, I know that I grow bored quick of having a gear advantage quick, I will never understand the twink mindset and what’s fun with winning because of the gear you have equiped, not because of your performance.

all i hear is mimimi

go to retail easy as that

It would be more logical if you went retail since it seems like the gameplay doesn’t matter for you.
