There are three basic roles in every dungeon : Tank, DPS and healer
-
TANKS : It’s your job to do everything in your power to keep enemy looking at you. You need to be agile to make sure if any mob runs away, you need to get him, ESPECIALLY if that mob is going after the healer. Turn on “target of a target” in UI to know every mob is looking at you because it’s easy to miss something in that confusion. I know we are a rare breed, and it’s a thankless job but we still do it.
-
DPS : you have basically one thing to do other then click buttons, WATCH YOUR AGGRO, it’s not just joining the group / raid and clicking every available button you have, make sure your agrro is below tanks agrro. It’s a simple job a 20kb addon can do for you. The dungeon is not that star trek movie where the captain of romulan ship yells “FIRE EVERYTHING” and you get to feel powerful, unfortunately you have a responsibility too. IN RAIDS, give tanks a second to get threat, you can hang on for 5 seconds can’t you?
-
Healers - Just keep everyone alive. Your job is a type of job where you have to keep the stupid alive. Weather tank is bad in holding agrro, weather that shaman does all him instants the second tank pulls, weather that mage thinks his blizzard will not cause agrro, weather someone gets feared into mobs…you have to keep them all alive and i know all of you think deep inside “what if i just go afk for 5 seconds and i let all these idi.ots die”. Thank you for healing
These are your jobs boys. Stick to them, now there are differences between good and bad in every role and most people notice them, try to be better and everyone will appreciate you more
