Sorry but this is just stupid to say in an RPG where gear is 80% of the game.
it is like saying do not pick up any more gear after M0 and go clear +15 because you want the challenge and not get carried by gear.
Why can you upgrade gear up to 395? but after that you need a rank? as said earlier, then we should not have any range of upgrading at all then? it is all about progress and gear is everything in WoW or else all the “elites still at School” on this forum would not care if players got better gear in the end? As i said go m0 gear and try to clear +15 since you are elite and you do not need gear
While you play you get that required rank, so you will get higher gear too. There is already a gear progession in M+ implemented. Also with a weekly chest that contains even higher gear. You are never stuck, or you are at the highest obtainable ilvl.
Everyone needs gear, that is why it’s a scaling difficulty.
With a scaling difficulty, guess what, you have scaling rewards.
Once valor cap is removed THEN you can spam your +2s all you want and upgrade your gear accordingly.
Who said anything about removing valor cap? I said have a cap but remove the rank, so every week you can upgrade gear in a slow matter, but you still have to go through a progress. Like you can not upgrade one item to max for example , but would maybe need all pieces in tandem to 395 first for example then 402 etc . it is just a way of progressing without geting stuck and running speed M+ trails with tryhards that leave. There would NEVER be any advantage doing +2 over higher content for your gear IF you can clear it, as that would give you Valor AND gear upgrade instantly.
Still have a hard time understanding why this is a problem for people though. Would be nice to know why this affect any players negatively?
Come on, you can’t make me beleive that for a 20s player, the journey to get there was at all difficult.
To me, gear is merely a mean to an end (challenge). Content awards gear, that is true. The real reward though, is that with that gear, new challenges and content are within reach.
I don’t think the current system is unfair to John and Darcy, but changing it would not, to me, be unfair.
There is still a cap, there is still rating to get upgrades.
At some point you will get to a level in which what John and Darcy get would not matter, at all.
But if you’re butthurt because “less than” players can get the same kind of gear as l33t ones the first, what, 2 weeks top ? I don’t really know what to say.
Are you aware we get to that +20 level because we have unlimited amounts of failed runs, which we record, analyse, log and analyse. Finding tactics and coordinate solutions which requires tons of experimenting?
Max level gear is defined by how often we get a weekly chest + the amount of valor we are allowed to use + being lucky on expensive slots in the vault. There hasn’t been 1 season yet where i hitted really max ilvl.
For season 1 we’ll see how many months we need to get to +20. That is definitely not a week 1 thing. Also not a month 1.
ofcourse and i have never said i want to. there is a huge different getting stuck at +5 and +20
and upgrades would not need to go to max, jsut not 30 ilvl difference. also the Valor way of progressing would take several weeks after you would clear that patch highest content anyway, i say it again it is just a slow way of progress without getting stuck and quitting.
20s player are a mixture of eveything. Just because they got to 20s does not mean they snapped their fingers and they 3chested their way to it.
Much like a top HoF guild is not the same as a 2k placed guild despite clearing the same bosses.
Gear is both, a mean to an end, and a reward.
There are people that do not like pushing endlessy.
There are a lot of people that see M+ like raids, you push to 20s when is hard and then as gear and time goes 20s become easier and you more confident.
To those people gear is the reward cause it allows you to chill at the max rewarding difficulty.
It would because as i said not everyone push endlessy.
I usually like to get rewards that interest me and be done with something.
At the end of the day there is not much reward for pushing over 20s, so by allowing everyone to get there just by “waiting” effectively discourage people to push there in the first place.
simply ranks SHOULD STAY … and of story simply if u cant get 1000 points are not ready to upgrade to 398 gear … with 395 u should be able to do +12 at least and that is 1320 points with no drama
This depends on the time though? You could wait to clear this patch raid until 10.3 because there is no reason to clear it when thre is a new raid and gear in 6 months?
It is not waiting for gear either, you still have to commit time to farm valor for weeks, so the gear increase is not free? But what you get is a player that clears +5 having another reason to play to finally clear +6 and 7 with his noob group. this is W for most players as you will engage pleyers for longer easch exp, instead of just geting stuck with the ones that do hardcore PvP or Raid/M+. Win/Win
I guess that people would still need to get a grasp on the tacts and stuff before going to higher keys.
At the end of the day, I’m all for people having fun doing content. I just can’t understand how what others get negate the fun of players (expect if part of the fun was having things that others don’t, but that would be childish)
This whole back and forth makes me question my sanity, lol.
