I’ve been gaming online since 1999, people were just as toxic if not more since there was nothing to prevent it.
Its ok LFR is also festering with some nasty leeches too, the game has aged fine. Its player base playing this game however? Nah, aged far worse.
Its gotten to the point that you have players using an addon to beg you for loot in LFR now.
I’d say that ppl werent such pussies back in the old days.
Look at the trend of excessive political correctness and making minorities standing above majorities that plague the western world.
As I remember it, when a player was garbage without chance to improve, he was swapped and the group carried on. Nowadays, everybody thinks that the fact that he/she is different than the rest, the majority should silently suffer from his excesses.
No offense, I dont know what was your story, but thats your point of view. The others might just say you slack after every pack, you dont use your cds effectively and die, you have bad route and going to rip their keys, etc. Ppl are used to certain standards and if you fail to meet them, you could try to improve or figure out, what happened instead of calling ppl toxic and be done with it. What you say might be 100% true, but as well it might not. From my experience, ppl dont do such bs for no reason.
Or you just might be a victim of the generation that grew up on the internet…who knows.
Reeeeeeeeeee
It’s as if taking social interaction out of the group formation process removed social behaviour from the community that uses this interaction free group formation
Well I can only speak based on my experiences, but I noticed the dungeon mentality changed when M+ were introduced. Ofc the rush rush mentality was always there, but with the M+ it bloomed even on low level dungs, it started to be much more prominent, skipping mobs and bosses, weird wall jumping and cursing on ppl who were not able to jump on a rock :).
I think its a big - to dungeoning, but thats how it goes atm, we can just hope that in future the shift will change again to more relaxed dungeoning.
