I fully agree that cross-realm functionality of LFD was extremely destructive and caused anti-social behaviours to arise due to virtually no consequences. That being said, what would be some arguments against implementing LFD that is server-locked?
And before you say “less social interactions”, tell me, do you consider finding a group in the list and whispering the leader “inv mage naxx bis” to be a quality social interaction?
This. Don’t take away the community aspect of the game. Summon stones and the LFG finder list was the perfect balance. Some of my best/traumatic experiences on classic have been getting to a dungeon or raid and getting ganked multiple times.
Some people not like it but there has to be a LFG in some way, for some servers even connection/grouping with people on other servers.
Some limitations would be nice and could help find a middle road, like only a few a day through the tool, not automatic transport and other restrictions like maybe only from lvl 10-60. (And later upped in a phase to 70)
I support a proper LFG finder implementation, a lot of servers you cannot do any dungeon when leveling, you either pay someone to boost you constant or just grind quests, which can get boring after a while. (And some boosters even harass if they find you are not using them)
And no… on some server you will NOT find any group during leveling for a very long period because most have given up. (Where during retail you can still experience some even though they are rushing).
Of course this is not the case for all servers, but a lot have this and a lot will not admit it because they stopped doing leveling/dungeons.
And no it does not help socializing to join boosting groups, especially as most are ‘GIVE Money’ or quiet and shout if they mess something up, and others in the group just AFK and follow if can.
In TBC this will continue if there won’t be something to fix this, and people will quickly stop going to non-heroics because they cannot get a lot of profit from it and a lot will not have their pre-bis items, not to mention a lot will stop after Karazhan.
That is a fact, people these days care so much about BiS and highest dps that you cannot have a sane normal dungeon experience. And that is the retail mentality a lot of the opposing people brought as well together with a lot of toxicity.
Noticed that retail has a lot less toxicity on some servers then classic.
Actualy fall alredy started in WoTLK. WOTLK had ver small growth of playerbase despite of fact that so many players joined game. Which was caused by massive amounth of players quiting game due to change in direction of the game to be more acessible and easyer for solo players. It turned off tons of players coming from TBC and Vannila.
Seriously, it is 2021 even dungeon finder in classic should be a quality of life improvement!
I thing this should only be realm wide tho, so you are still grouped with people from your realm or maybe even make a manual group interface like in retail.
This will make dungeons in classic right now so much better to find a group for.
Where do you have you numbers from? A lack of gowth is not a “fall”.
I can’t put a picture from the official graph (consolidated from quarter reports sub numbers) but they never went down in WOTLK. Just google image it.
On the contrary it ended up at the highest point in wow history with 12millions.
I have a question to everyone that “demands” for changes a.k.a. lfg, LFR, ds, barber etc.
Why don’t you guys ask for a changes in retail servers so they can become more suitable for your needs/ demands? For example when you enter Outlands to have all the features of TBC classic including your wishes? Why you try to change the classic game instead changing the retail one and just play there?
Demand your changes in retail game so they can grant you everything you want. Leave classic servers the way they are.
Im fine if the Group Finder would be the tab with the lists of groups people make for dungeons, aka M+ group finder from retail. This tool battles the annoyance of the search for people in the debris of boosting and regular chat spam, while keeping every aspect of socializing there.
Aye. Dungeon finder it is. I agree ut should not be in TBC.
The LFG tool on the other hand will be handy and help out a lot i think to find people to run dungeons.
first of all the definition of most successful is highly debatable. While the total amount of subscriptions reached the highest the same time it also was the first time they started to lose more subscribers then gaining, and the overall increase of subscribers was significantly lower then TBC and Vanilla.
The fact that you love Wrath the most, and love one of the features of wrath necessarily make it the
Don’t get me wrong, i loved wrath, for its charms and flaws, but it wasn’t perfect, neither as classic or tbc is.
Only if the subscription price changes, which it didn’t. Outside source might not be right, but their own quarterly MMA suggests that classic had a Major impact there.
@Actually, due to the existence of 3 and 6 month payments, that is not correct. If everyone only paid single month every time, you would be correct, but due to the longer plans, month to month (or even quarter to quarter to lesser extent) revenue change is not directly tied to the number of active customers. I, for example, generated zero month to month revenue for Blizzard in previous quarter, because my next 6 month payment is not up until later this month.
Now don’t go back on your words and then suddenly add multiple month subscriptions. Also, for revenue you do NOT include a 6 month subscription at the start of the 6 month period for accounting, you add the monthly subscription each month and you deduct the discount. (if they get a free item you can also deduct that).
This is actually mandatory in accounting, due to tax related issues.
While this does not conclude if the figures of the outsourced company include it this way, any figures they would have received from accounting is going to be like this, unless they purposely want to paint a different picture.
