I think there are two groups, and none are about rebalancing:
- Those who don’t have the gear yet, and they are here to get it. If the group doesn’t work, I can consider removing them, but if it does, we’re good.
- Those without skill to play their class well. I still don’t mind them participating in a tourist run, or better, if they are trying, they probably have meters, see where they are, and this will inform them that they need to improve so and so much. I’ve been there with my hunter in 2009.
- Well, and huge latency. I’d assume those people should accept that when they are a liability, they may need to bail. (At my parents I can have really bad lag. So I don’t list.)
And so, regardless of the cause, my approach to dungeons:
- Invite people with a fair class composition.
- Have a go at it. If it doesn’t work, discuss it. If no one else does, I will bail.
I only really had one dungeon failing, Dark Portal before prepatch. I got squashed.
(Made me quit dungeons on my tank until prepatch, but mainly just the short window.)
