One really fun aspect of new expansions is that everyone sits around waiting on the launch-night and at the same moment everything just erupts and we all charge into the next expansion. 3 days early access? That means either I will level 3 days after whole bunch of people, when they are already max level, which will not be the same at all. Or I pay more and level 3 days ahead of a lot of people who didn’t pay. Both options feel really boring, compared to what we have always had, that it’s a chaotic mess of everyone trying to do everything at once.
Don’t take away the chaos. Scrap the early access nonsense. That should not be part of our game. Same access is what we always had and same access is what we want!
I find that so much fun that I always get an early night on launch night so I can be up early to play when everyone has just gone to bed and the servers are running smoothly.
even the spoilers wont be an issue with months of beta before where everything is revealed anyway… i mean, you even have raid guides weeks before you can raid…
I will feel the difference, when i’ll probably be forced to level slower because in warmode there will be max level griefers, be behind with professions, all the things i find will be less valuable, etc
Then get a group and level together? It’s not that hard.
For real, you could even say someone with 1 level above you is already “forcing you to level slower” because they would be slightly stronger in WM than you…
You are sabotaging your own experience with that mentality. You see that, right?
So now you’re telling me to make a change, go out of my way to find and level with a group, for a difference that literally nobody feels?
This isn’t about my mentality here, it’s about you talking out of your rear.
And yes, this feature has a negative effect on my, and the experience of many other players, unless i pay and the fact you’re here defending this practice is despicable.
Exactly. Because you sound quite tone-deaf when it comes to…
Your entire “problem” is self-imposed. No one forces you to level in Warmode. No one forces you to actively engage in PvP with other players.
If you want to use Warmode for leveling, then you HAVE to risk getting attacked. That’s just how it works. You know the risk, you know the reward.
If you don’t like making decisions in games for your experience, that’s ok. But stop complaining when you make decisions you don’t have to make and then complain that you “had to do them”.
Or do you see other late joiners to an expansion complain how “everyone is max level but not them”? For them the situation is factual even worse, because the max level players don’t just have the level but the endgame gear too. Yet I hear not a single word from them in general, complaining how “unfair” it is when they have to face an opponent gradually better geared, experienced and leveled than themselves.
How exactly would that be bad? In fact, it would actually be smart to do early access. Why? Because it cuts the amount of players, trying to log in, into several smaller groups, instead of one, big blob trying to shove itself through a tiny door.
“…They’re now giving people who pay extra the chance to experience new game features first…”
Beta and ptr is exactly that and nobody cries there… 20 fing bucks, well not even that taken you also get 30days… where is the issue? IT’S A GAME, if you don’t agree with the companies ways, don’t give them any money, not even a sub… easy
these people who need these 3 days adventage will be ahead of you even if you’ll start on the same day with them, to me it’s good change, not mandatory and makes it worth to buy epic version, I myself don’t have money for that but blizzard deserves to have some bonus if we keep requesting for more content etc
$$$ = fuel
I can see exactly what it is. And it doesn’t matter really. It’s 3 days out of 183 days (taking this seasons duration as reference) in the first season. That’s 2% of the entire playtime as early access at best.
If it would be a week, several or even a month. Then I would see it problematic and as pay2win.
But not with 2 percent when it is still off-season at the expansion start.
In other words (and using a saying here that may or may not be exclusive to my region) you guys “turn a mosquito into an elephant” with your complaints.
I see it this way, If there is any possibility to have 50% less players on minute 1 of the launch, its a win for everyone’s initial experience, every single expac launch had issues and maybe that will smoothen it a tiny bit.
If anyone is seeing it as a race against anyone else other than him/her self, then this person has much worse issues to deal with. At the end, its a game and nothing more. More money for them, more devs at work…
In fact, I would even go so far and attest such people an issue with self-confidence and complacency. They seem to constantly have the sick urge to “prove something” to others to feel worthy…
