Early access with Epic Edition?!? Why?

The amount of cope in this thread is astounding.

If you dont care about the game, game launches and the “fresh expansion feel” that alot of us (and probably you too) enjoy, then what does it harm you to keep it the way it was?

One guy went mask off, and said the truth behind it all “i want to pay to not have to share questtags with the poors” and that is what wow has become post cosmetics, boosts, wow token ,and now early access.

The predatory monetization of the game started with the sparklepony, and it will only get worse from here, buckle up

I was going to buy the epic edition eitherway, i love the game, even if it’s just cosmetics and some cross-game goodies.

If i want to play with my friends on release, who maybe don’t love the game enough to pay a 40 euro premium, on 50 euro expansion, to play 3 days earlier, then all i can do is make this post and urge blizzard to reneg on this feature, or atleast move it to the heroic /or just a base pre-order tier.

Who wants to be 3 days late to the biggest party of the wow patch cycle?

Please, explain. What is typical?

Or… You just wait for your friends.
Just because you have those 3 days, doesn’t mean you must play.
Choice is a great thing.

It is quite a bad move. One of the fun things is waiting for expansion release in the evening with your guild on voice and throw all toys and things around while being hyped. And when it hits play an hour together (and then go to sleep because it is the middle of the night  ).

But in the end the first leveling is not a race to me. So on that part i am just :dracthyr_shrug:

Why wait 3 days?, you could wait a month?, why not wait till next expansion?

Did you read the part about new expansion feel, and game launches?
It’s not a secret that these events are significantly more important to alot of players, even in this thread there’s a dozen who echo that sentinment.

It’s kinda hollow hearing “just dont play” from the one guy that’s openly asking for a p2w headstart, because they dont want to share mobtags with the plebs.

That’s not what I was responding to though. They used an argument where they’d miss out on playing with ‘less invested’ friends. Well… That’s easily solveable by not putting ‘fast leveling’ above your friends. Right?

I’m not the only one who has no problem with the headstart, so don’t act like I am.

There’s a difference between “having no problem” and actively advocating for it, while trivializing the input of anyone who isn’t happy, with rediculously unhelpfull comments like “wait 3 days for your friends” when the status quo is “everybody plays together on launch” and your supposed opinion is “i dont care”, that doesn’t really seem to track with being neutral.

You are heavily advocating for it.
And we can agree to disagree that a p2w 3 day EA is “good” for the game or playerbase in any way.

You are not neutral in this discussion :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not neutral. I never claimed to be neutral.
I like the headstart. I’ve said as much.

Lol. No. I’m refuting silly arguments.
That’s what I’m doing.

Give me a good argument and I’ll agree with it (won’t change my mind, but I can at least understand your position then).

We sure can. That’s fine.
It’s not P2W. It’s good. :+1:t4:

I don’t know what gave you the notion that I claim to be neutral.
I never made any such claim.

No end game gear is available till the second week. The only advantage is leveling more characters

You mean the wow token?

I had no problem in the last 9 expansions because there was the expectation that everyone starts in the same time. If you’re so brainwashed to not understand how selling people a 3 day head start can be seen as an unfair advantage then you’re beyond hopeless.

Unless you’re running in the race why does it matter so much, since nothing else will be unlocked anyway.
If it makes my launch a bit smoother with the little time i get to play I’m happy for that.

Why not? GW2 does it so why not WoW too?

It will spread the initial release lag  no more millions of players at the same time on the same mob.

Good way to cash in on FOMO from players though, can you imagine the thought of being three days behind others players?! Can you imagine? Might as well not bother playing at all.

Well played Blizz well played

I’m Disgusted, I already paid 10 euro more for Dragonflight than they usually cost and sub fee has increased aswell

Then following question. How do you want to know it will be a problem this time with 3 days early access, when you never had experience with such a situation in WoW before? Why do you think you know what will happen, when it is the very first time this is happening in WoW? Other games have done it before and you and the few others here are literally the first people I ever have seen in an online forum complaining about early access for a DLC that “will ruin the fairness of (self-imposed) competition”…
