Where’s the rep requirement for Earthen? Where’s the lore that shows them joining the Alliance and Horde?
They’re shown in Beta as being specifically neutral but playable as adventurers on either side. So, not an allied race in that regard. They’re also not a race we earn by gaining reputation with them. Allied races were importantly something we got by earning through gameplay. That’s not present either.
You know what else isn’t part of the Earthen unlock requirement? A one week wait. If someone buys TWW next week, they don’t have to wait a week. It’s not part of the requirement for them. It’s just a timegate right at the start. So acting like it’s comparable to other Allied Race unlock requirements makes no sense, bro.
Brother, my bro, they lack most of the traditional aspects of being an Allied Race. A one week wait isn’t hard coded into their unlock requirements either. You know what makes them an allied race? That we unlock them in game that they’re not just given to us. We have to complete some pre-requisites. Those pre-requisites are the same whether they are or are not timegated for the first week.
was that meant to be a gotcha moment? sorry to say you failed when all you spout is a very entitled that you should have it day 1 when no other AR had that.
This is an Allied race, not a typical race. Allied races during BFA worked as the following:
Do you have the max rep for the race it belongs to?
Have you completed the storyline which unlocks the race?
If so, do a quick unlock quest. Congrats!
While I wouldn’t say I like that they’ve time-gated it, anyone familiar with Allied Races in BFA knows how this works. At least you don’t have to grind rep for it this time.
To be very clear my brother. My point was: It’s fine, but Blizzard should have communicated this more effectively. It would have been very easy to just have stated that Earthen would be unlockable a week after launch and cost them nothing. You disputed it saying there was no reason to believe otherwise. You cited an Ion quote. I cited the roadmap. You referred to previous allied races, however, your own Ion quote contradicts you because Ion says Earthen will have no rep grind, specifically differentiating them from what people expect of Allied Races.
You’ve not convinced me otherwise that this was poor communication from Blizz. All you’ve done is bounced around objections then cried I’m entitled and believe something I’ve never stated. Bro, go to sleep.
And now it seems that the damn campaign, just to unlock the Earthen Race which was advertised as being there AT RELEASE, will only continue next week 03 september…
They marketed both early acces and the launch having earthen, so I rushed through the unlocking requirements because I wanted to main an earthen and do the actual content with him. Lo and behold, its august 28th and we still can’t create an earthen while so much of the early marketing and info-graphics told us otherwise.
Whoever made this decision to time-gate Earthen unlock after the given info-graphics and early marketing is a failure and should be reprimanded by blizzard.
I’m not sure why there even is a timed delay, doesn’t part 2 of the campaign feel like a fitting time to let the Earthen be unlocked, right after becoming unbound from the titans directives
Good news everyone! Chapter 3 and 4 are available right now! It seems that chapter 5 is still gated, but at least we are making progress! We are getting closer!
if its not true like in your statement why cant i create one right now sure 3 and 4 in the campaign is opened but 5 is still time gated so yes the earthen race will drag behind, and i don’t want to spend 24/7 online just to catch up.
