If they know that all your gold gets removed, both players and botters would just move to an commodity based economy which we’ve seen in other MMO’s when there was not enough gold to trade around.
This wouldn’t even stop botters because they’re the ones who farms the super cheap ores and other junk we see on the AH.
Well, then I think you should make your own game, where everything is wiped regularly, and let the rest of us play WoW.

Making new threads and repeating the same bad idea won’t make it more appealing.

Full ID verification for online gaming accounts + limitation to 1 game account per ID would do a lot.
Even if you take into consideration that there will be stolen IDs it would drastically improve things like the botting situation.

I think this has been suggested before but since Blizzard even moved away from using ID to verify accounts for account ownership issues I think we’d sailed past the post. It’s probably to do with the more stringent privacy laws in EU.
There’s nothing that stops them from faking an ID and/or botting after identification either.
We’re not South Korea when it comes to (pretty good?) gaming laws there hmhm.
