At least for non tanks. My 60 corruption echoing void is doing less than my 25 corruption ilevel 445 unguent caress on AOE over the course of a dungeon, and by a pretty significant margin (4.8% vs 6.8%), and the lash of the void scales with ilevel.
Why didnt they just link EV to ilevel to rather than health to stop it being massively overpowered for tanks (who get far more value than dps in absolute terms, which clearly makes no sense), and to stop low level EV items being heavily overvalued.
Its not realy useful for tanks too, like yea its much better for tanks than for dps, but its nothing extra, they realy over nerfed it, should be 30% instead 50…
Like yea, aint worst, but it aint worth the coruption if u have something else, my druid sims way lower with EV rank4 than TD3 on aoe. And way lower with than IS on ST
TD/IS/gushing/flay they are all better dps boost and dmg per coruption for different scenarios that EV, for tanks, and even more for dps.
Mwybe it has something to do with usefulnes, TD is random and sux in ST, IS is reliable but sux in aoe, while EV performed realy well in both, with like 90%uptime… Not sure tho
Why not ? What makes tanks so special so it cannot be one of the team ? Why not treat a tank of a player with special tasks of keeping the threat. There’s no acttual reason why in 5 man or raid situation tanks couldn’t do comparable dps? Is there even any point of this holy trinity approach and tank players being just useless threat managers ?
Because the role of a tank is to protect the party with high HP pool and large defenses. The role of a DPS is to…DPS.
A tank cannot both fulfill it’s role and also the role of a DPS. If this was intended, blizzard would have went on from the trinity of Tank / Heal / DPS system.
All 3 roles are locked however with determined usefulness in any form of environment. A DPS cannot fulfill the role of a tank, a tank cannot fulfill the role of a DPS, a healer cannot fulfill the role of either, neither can a tank or DPS fulfill the role of a healer.
“Balance”.
Edit: What you’re asking is the very best of both worlds. To be a tank, and to be comparable to a DPS, effectively making the trinity system obsolete.
And who says it cannot be combined ? Other games have combined the roles. A tank can easily do both roles. DPS being reward of needing more effort on controlling the situation.
No one complains when disc priest does ok dps, why it is problem when tanks do it ? Ego issues ?
And maybe it is outdated by now ? There’s reason why not too many people like playing tanks, it is boring role outside mythic raids.
Currently tanks cannot do much - not solo visions, out-dungeon content is non existent. Pet battles is only content a tank can do outside instance. Even on PvP I am better off as dps than tank, when I look at my raw survivability.
